Tommy Cannon - The Big Big Talent of - Eyes & Teeth - Season 12 - Edition 12

Tommy Cannon - The Big Big Talent of - Eyes & Teeth - Season 12 - Edition 12

Welcome to the final edition in Season 12. In this episode I know you’re going to enjoy as I take you back to the height of Cannon & Ball’s success as a double act that lasted decades right up until the very sad passing of Bobby Ball in 2020.

Tommy Cannon, a national treasure and one who admits he owes his career to Bobby in those early years as he talks to Eyes & Teeth about a Weld of Laughter.

Double acts over the years on British television have always been there but they seem to have a decade or so dedicated to them, in that case the 1980’s were Cannon & Balls years. Cannon & Ball have always been there it seems from those early Wheeltappers Shows in the 1970’s too I’m a Celebrity and Last Laugh in Las Vegas in more recent years.

I can relate to double acts as a ventriloquist, but I can’t imagine what I’d do without Arthur Lager. It would be like losing a right arm, literally for me, but when the nation lost Bobby Ball, we all felt a great loss as if he were our funny uncle, but he was someone’s father, husband, son, friend and to Tommy more like a brother.

In this final edition to Season 12, welcome to Eyes & Teeth the big big talent of Tommy cannon

    Maurice Grumbleweed - Legends of Laughter - Eyes & Teeth - Season 11 - edition 7

    Maurice Grumbleweed - Legends of Laughter - Eyes & Teeth - Season 11 - edition 7

Welcome to Eyes & teeth – Legends of Laughter - Maurice Grumbleweed

The Grumbleweeds TV show on a Saturday night meant it was family laughter times they are moments I cherish and remember laughing with my siblings and parents. I was around 9 or 10 when they were big in the light entertainment world and on constantly.

Summer seasons and pantomimes, and that famous Grumbleweed song we always sung along to just brought joy to the UK.

My great friend Pete Cutler who will be on a future episode put Maurice Lee and me in touch and I thoroughly enjoyed not only hearing all about those shows I grew up watching but I loved hearing what Maurice was up to now. He loves his work, if its storming a cruise ship crowd to not being listened to in a Blues Bar in Harrogate, its so true that when you have the showbusiness bug it never leaves you.

IN this edition Maurice talks about working Hamberg the same time as The Beatles and working with comedy writer Mike Craig as well as being a success up and down the country selling out theatres and clubs and sometimes working three or four venues a night.

Welcome to Season 11, episode 7 Maurice Grumbleweed

We talk Liberace, the London Palladium, jack Jones, Las Vegas and much more in this final episode of Season 10 when A Touch of Magic is in the fingers of Bobby Crush

Eyes And Teeth - The Water Rats - Dave Brock of Triple Cream - Season 4 - Edition 10

Eyes And Teeth - The Water Rats - Dave Brock of Triple Cream - Season 4 - Edition 10

Dave Brock has been in the music and comedy business for over 40 years, he is a well seasoned performer and as I find out has an extensive knowledge of Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys and if it weren't for Eyes & Teeth being solely about Comedy & variety we would probably still be talking today about the Beach Boys.
We talk about Comedy and our own TV Talent Show experiences and our time in the Water Rats.
In 2017 I hosted a Trip to Vevey, Switzerland to Chaplin's Museum which has been on my bucket list and I went twice within 3 years. It was on this trip I got to know Dave more and find out we have more common interests.
He is a talented man and is great at Quizzes too. Welcome to Eyes & Teeth Dave Brock

Eyes And Teeth - "Turn Up the Mike" Mike Doyle talks to Steve Hewlett - Season 4 - Edition 5

Eyes And Teeth - "Turn Up the Mike" Mike Doyle talks to Steve Hewlett - Season 4 - Edition 5

Tom Jones, Rob Brydon and Mike Doyle are three very talented people to come from Wales, today I talk to Mike Doyle but I get all three and more as his voices are vast in range.
Mike delivers today not only brilliant backstage stories of Bob Monkhouse and Freddie Starr and early talk of touring the Clubs with his bands but you will hear impressions and song and learn much more about an incredibly hard working and modest performer who I have admired for 28 years. Mike is known as Baby Rat in The Grand Order of Water Rats which means he was the last to be proposed into the order before the lockdown.

He is an incredible asset to the GOWR and I look forward to working with him more in the future. www.mikedoyle.co.uk
