That's because it can be uncomfortable and frustrating to wear hearing aids with your mask. (2) Some patients who get those custom-style hearing aids are feeling the "occlusion effect," which is when you hear your voice echoing or feel a vibration when you talk. (3) Once we stop wearing masks, just know that custom-styles also won't be as comfortable as the receiver-in-canal hearing aids that I recommend.
