Ep 5 - Yule Special: did Vikings celebrate jól -and what was it anyway?

In this episode, Daniel and Mathias talk about the Viking jól or yule celebration. What was it? Did it even exist? And did they actually celebrate the solstice? Aside from that, they get around a lot of other interesting subjects, such as medieval Christianity, work-life balance before industrialization, and a couple of questions from listeners.

    Defending the Gospel (Part 1)

    Defending the Gospel (Part 1)
On August 16th, 2015, Pastor Michael Miano preached an overview "narrative" of the Apostle Paul's writings to the churches at Galatia, Thessalonica, Corinth, and Rome. Ultimately, the focal point of Pastor Miano's message was that we must seek the understand the context of the Gospel, primarily what it meant in the first century, as Christ was the peace between Jew & Gentile. The hope of Israel- resurrection of the dead and the living - was being fulfilled!

Taylor Made 13 - Brian Johnson's Sick Burn

Taylor Made 13 - Brian Johnson's Sick Burn
It's been a long time coming but we're here with our first international edition of Taylor Made. Bringing you nonsense from both sides of the Atlantic, the time zone difference only makes it more confusing. It's a doozey of an episode which is clocking in at just under an hour but it's filled to the brim with giggles and snorts. We also swore quite a lot this time round and I'm not quite sure why. As we haven't had a catch-up in a while, we talked to great lengths about Sam's experiences from working at the Olympics and how he managed to combine the names of an astronomer and the Mayor of London and then humiliate himself in front of one of them. Lemurs and Pagans are also discussed at one point. Talking points: Brian Johnson, Brian Cox, Boris Johnson, Pagans, lemurs, Canada, Guild Wars 2 and the Olympics.
