The Justice Dept sued North Carolina on Monday over the state's new bathroom law after the governor refused to back down. Attorney General Loretta Lynch said the law requiring transgender people to use public restrooms corresponding to the gender on their birth certificate amounts to "state-sponsored discrimination" and compared it to Jim Crow laws.

Leslie is joined by callers as they discuss North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory's executive order regarding the state's anti-LGBTQ law, H.B. 2. The order signed by the Governor is essentially meaningless. This is because it still leaves intact the most controversial part of the law, which restricts transgender people from using the bathroom that aligns with their identification, even if that means forcing transgender people with heavy beards to use women's rooms and putting people with feminine appearances in men's rooms.
