Paul is the owner and lead therapist of Intentional Counseling (a group private counseling practice in Frisco, Texas that employs 7 clinicians). He has a Christian personal background leading him to feel called by God at age 17 to help others in a direct, deeply impactful way. Psychology was the answer to his prayers and God honored his private practice straight out of college. Paul graduated from Dallas Baptist University with both my Bachelor’s in Psychology and Masters in Counseling. He obtained his LPC license in 2013 and has been counseling in private practice ever since. Paul is also a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor that trains and oversees new therapists in the process of getting their license. He has seen over 10,000 client cases so far and is still going strong!

"I'll never fully retire just because I love the work I do too much. It's deeply rewarding to see people grow and reach their goals. It's such an honor to get to help and be an intricate part of people's lives in a positive way! I am happily married to my wife Ciara who co-owns our counseling practice with me. We have two beautiful daughters ages 11 and 4."- Paul Myers

Paul Myers: The Importance of Taking Chances

Paul Myers: The Importance of Taking Chances

Author and podcaster Paul Myers wanted to be a rock star, not a journalist and storyteller. But his career has taken him to some amazing places. He’s written books about Long John Baldry, Todd Rundgren, the Barenaked Ladies, and The Kids in the Hall. He’s interviewed Elton John, and spent time in Alcatraz with Stevie Nicks. He’s working on a new book about comedian John Candy. And he's the host of the fascinating Record Store Day podcast. In this episode of Digging Deep, we learn about Paul's creative family, where his love of music began, and delve into the connection between music and memory. He also talks about luck, taking chances, and embracing change. Paul speaks candidly about his relationship with alcohol, and how a question from his wife more than 20 years ago put him on the path to sobriety. And, he tells the story of how an interview with the legendary Randy Bachman ended up with Paul joining him on stage for a concert and even getting an invitation to his wedding.
