    Performance Enhancing
    Performance Enhancing:
Bill opens the pod talking about the passing of ESPN of Chris Mortensen, an award-winning journalist who reported on the NFL for ESPN for more than three decades. Chris Mortensen was 72 years old. Bill asks about Dan and Kevin’s weekends and says nothing can compare to what he saw on TMZ TV and is resulting in a lawsuit against Hailey Beiber’s sister. Bill thinks a lawsuit should not be allowed, hear it all and decide for yourself. What current trend or behavior is escalating beyond control? Bill thinks walking while texting is out of control and Dan admits to doing it earlier in the day! Bill says EVERYTHING is becoming a subscription and it’s escalating beyond control. LeBron James surpassed 40,000 career points over the weekend! He is 39 years-old, he has played in 20 All-Star games and put the Lakers on his back last week with an a flawless performance. How is this possible at 39 years old? Performance enhancing drugs? Bill plays former Buffalo Bill Marcellus Wiley from his Never Shut Up podcast saying that former MMA fighter Chael Sonnen claims he shares the same dealer as LeBron and that LeBron uses EPO which increases red blood cells, keeping a player nearly as fresh in the fourth quarter as in the first! Bill asks who had it worse, first a story in the Daily Mail about a German man, his dog barking incessantly at 2 AM, the police and his missing appendage. Bill doesn’t believe the story as it is presented and questions the report. The second story is about a man who claims he swerved to avoid deer while driving on the Pacific Coast Highway in California around midnight. He ended up going over a cliff! He was found two days later on a cliff two hundred feet below the road, while his car was on the beach, 400 feet below the road. You have to hear how this man says he escaped his car. Bill wonders if he will have to pay to have his car removed from the beach! Dan takes you back to Silver Creek with a bizarre story about a sledgehammer and an abusive man. More current trends and or behavior rhat is escalating beyond control. Bill calls Racin’ Randy before the Penzoil 400 ends and Randy calls the last 10 laps! Enjoy!

Sha'Carri Richardson Isn't the Only Elite Getting High: The Performance Advantages of Cannabis with Josiah Hesse

Sha'Carri Richardson thought she was going to the Olympic this summer after winning the 100m sprint.  But when she tested positive for THC after the race, she was disqualified.

Like Richardson, several elite athletes have made headlines recently, while the use of marajuana has pretty much been an open secret among the best of the best.

But why?  What is the science behind this controversial plant?  What researchers are starting to learn is that the natural runner’s high that we feel when we go for a run is directly related to the one you get from THC and NOT from endorphins like so many believe.

Now there’s a whole lot more to this topic than getting stoned and going for a run, I promise you, and today I’m going to talk to the investigative journalist who literally wrote the book on it.

Josiah Hesse’s work has been featured in publications including Vice, The Guardian, Politico, and Esquire.  In his new book, RUNNER’S HIGH, Josiah takes us on a journey through the secret world of athletes who experience astounding, cannabis-inspired physical and mental transformations.  He explores the groundbreaking science of the runner’s high, the economics of the $20 billion CBD market, and the fundamental racism and inequalities in the enforcement of marijuana prohibition.

Regardless of what you feel personally or politically about marijuana, and how it relates to running, this is a stereotype-busting deep dive into a fascinating topic and I hope you’ll join me for the trip.
