    Existential Crisis

    Existential Crisis

Post a period of being benched by the Universe   I experienced what some would call an existential crisis. In this episode, I get cozy and personal about what happened to me. Then I tried and answer questions that I had, like, what is an existential crisis? Where does the idea of existentialism come from? What else can cause an existential crisis? Then, I explored what could be done to overcome this period. Ultimately, I hope you enjoy it and find it valuable to you.

The Truly Co Podcast Interview with Heidi Raush

In this interview, Lindsay chats with Heidi Rausch, the first female youth pastor at Cedar Valley Church, about what to do when facing an unexpected crisis. Heidi is a wife, mother, and full-time youth pastor, as well as an entrepreneur.

At just 26 years old and becoming a new mom, Heidi was faced with the reality of losing her eyesight after being diagnosed with Punctate Inner Choridopathy (PIC), a rare disease with no treatment. Heidi shares her journey through discovering her diagnosis, the frustrations of losing independence and wrestling with trusting God through this unexpected, life-altering situation.

Heidi shares: "I have never faced something so hard where my world stopped. The hardest part is realizing that even though my world was standing still, everyone elses' was still going. I'm still living with this today. Some of my vision was restored, but God is still good even if I don't receive healing."

"I was determined that although this reality is devastating, I wanted to go through this suffering with Jesus. I can rest with a little bit of joy and peace because my pain has purpose when I choose to walk alongside Christ. There are many things I can still do despite my circumstances."

"We aren't guaranteed an easy solution for our problems, but we can choose to put our trust in God amid our pain."

Colossians 3:2 "Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things." (NIV)
