Special Strong- Training and Inspiring Special Needs Clients w Founder Daniel Stein

Special Strong- Training and Inspiring Special Needs Clients w Founder Daniel Stein

How many viral videos have had an impact on you?

I caught one a couple months ago that made me stop, rewind, and watch again…It was a video of a teenage autistic boy with physically disabilities opting to leave his wheelchair behind and go for a walk. His name is Brandon and the video taken by his trainer garnered over 6.8 millions views on LinkedIn and 150 million combined views on other forms of social media and through news outlets. His trainer, Daniel Stein is the man behind Special Strong. This wasn’t an overnight miracle- it was years of building up to the moment- a well worth investment his parents made- Buy Brandon a new wheelchair or invest in therapy. Special Strong has been instrumental in helping hundreds of clients who live with a variety of conditions which include autism, apspergers, down syndrome, ADD, spinal cord injuries, cerebral palsy, victims of stroke and more.

There are techniques and cues Daniel has learned over the years that help connect with his clients. Touch, hand placement, dialogue during activities which allow his clients to feel at ease and in control. Based out of Texas, Daniel also created certify strong, helping other trainers all over the world to get certified in helping train people with special needs…

Adventures In Personal Training- How Adam Bracken Is Changing The Landscape

I wish I had the ability to not only motivate and educate people on the benefits of living a healthy and active life but also the super power to make you do it. There are people however, who seem to have that super power. At least in some capacity- they are called Personal Trainers!

So, are you finally recognizing that beer belly, or frustrated by the difficulty in shedding the years of baby weight. Were you once the all star and now the no star. Maybe you just want to post that epic beach bikini picture on Instagram. Hopefully you want to be healthy, and strong in an effort to live your fullest life. No matter the reason- Adam Bracken has heard them all.

Adam, the founder of the Fitness Lab found his calling early on and hasn’t looked back. He went from washing towels and wiping down equipment to training some of the countries best athletes while opening up two studios in a very quick amount of time. His 3rd location is set to open in early Fall.

The profession of personal training is showing no signs of slowing down. Employment of trainers and instructors is projected to grow 10 percent from 2016 to 2026.

If you are motivated, dedicated and wishful in being the best version of yourself- it's people like Adam who will help find the solution for you. Working with every body type, shape, goal and obstacle- find what is going to work for you. Every body, story, and experience is different.

A New Wave Of Personal Training with Opex's Jonathon Dipierro

A New Wave Of Personal Training with Opex's Jonathon Dipierro

We go back to the basics this week for my "Living Your Life w Lianne Laing" podcast. Jonathon Dipierro joins us from OPEX Ottawa. OPEX aims to be that one stop shop for individuals looking to be accountable for their daily goals. They provide a service which has one person and an app I should mention targeting your fitness, nutrition and self care activities. Don't check in- they will check up- don't show up- they come knocking :)

Some of us require more attention on our food intake while others need the motivation to get out the door and moving. We try and hit on many factors that hold people back from reaching their potential. Since we taped the podcast last week I have tried to actually sit when I eat, and take five deep breaths prior to consuming food- Jonathon offers up a few tricks he enjoys sharing with his clients.
