Ike questions the rational behind extending Bryce’s 13-year contract, and why do it now, so early in the contract. Would it set a dangerous precedent that could hurt the Phillies down the line? This line of thinking gets Jack fired up, and callers chime in too.

Comments from Bryce Harper have made it pretty clear that he wants a contract extension, and Jack is fully on board with the Phillies paying Bryce. Meanwhile Ike looks at the risks and says it’s “unnecessary.”
