    DC155 Interview: Public Space Design with Sour Studio's Pinar Guvenc

    Pinar Guvenc, a partner at Sour Studio, joins Tim for a discussion on how this consultancy does their Architecture, Interior Design, Product Design, and Public Spaces work. Sour is a hybrid design studio with the mission of addressing social and urban problems through sustainable and inclusive methodologies. Sour's use of co-creation panels and extended collaboration with all the diverse stakeholders on their projects is discussed, as well as a case study in public space design they did in Taksim Square in Istanbul, Turkey. Sour is proud to say they work "with" clients and stakeholders, not "for".

    Las rutinas del sueño en los niños: ¿Tu hijo es un búho o una alondra?

    Terrores nocturnos, pesadillas, dificultad para conciliar el sueño o niños que reclaman a sus padres durante la noche. El desconocimiento sobre cómo evoluciona el sueño de los más pequeños de la casa, hace que sea una de las grandes preocupaciones de los padres, desde los primeros años de vida hasta la adolescencia.

    El Dr. Gonzalo Pin Arboledas, jefe del servicio de Pediatría y la Unidad del Sueño del Hospital Quirón Salud de Valencia y especialista en medicina de los trastornos del sueño, ha ofrecido una charla virtual a los empleados de BBVA para responder a sus dudas sobre cómo se regula el descanso de los más pequeños, qué rutinas se deben seguir y cómo contrarrestar los efectos provocados por el confinamiento. Esta charla se enmarca dentro de la iniciativa ‘#BBVAenCasa’, que ofrece a los empleados de la entidad consejos para trabajar en remoto y seguir conciliando la vida personal y laboral.

    El especialista en medicina del sueño comenzó su charla hablando sobre la importancia de conocer cómo funciona la regulación del sueño, para así poder establecer unas rutinas que permitan mejorar la calidad del descanso de los niños.

    El Dr. Pin explicó que nuestro organismo se prepara para el sueño transformando la serotonina en melatonina, pero esta transformación no es instantánea. “Tarda aproximadamente dos horas y esta es quizás la primera enseñanza que tenemos que tener en cuenta cuando queremos preparar a un niño para dormir. Tenemos que empezar a hacer la desactivación aproximadamente una hora y media, dos horas antes de dormir. Debe además hacerse fuera del dormitorio, porque no queremos que se duerma, queremos que se tranquilice. Es el momento de la afectividad, del cuento, de las sonrisas y de las caricias”.
