Ep 8. The Three Weeks, Pro-Life Torah Pinchas. The Need For Pro-Life Leadership in the Jewish Community

Ep 8. The Three Weeks, Pro-Life Torah Pinchas. The Need For Pro-Life Leadership in the Jewish Community

In this episode, we examine the meaning of the mourning period known as The Three Weeks, when we mourn for the loss of Jewish life, soul, and nationhood that occurred when the First and Second Temples in Jerusalem were destroyed and the Jewish residents were exiled. Next, we share our commentary on this week’s Torah portion, Pro-Life Torah Pinchas, who showed much needed, though controversial, leadership in an earlier time when Jewish culture faced internal existential threats. We discuss Power Point slide #10, What Do The Prophets say?, and slide # 67, Tikkun Olam, both of which prompt us to look at the need for pro-life leadership in the Jewish community that recognizes the obligation to protect unborn children from harm as we repair the world. Aired 7/10/20.

    Calibrating (Mostly) Every Simpsons Ever

Over the last 25+ years, The Simpsons has formed a cultural identity nearly incapable of being rivaled. Regardless of which era you love the most (seasons 2 through 12 in my case), The Simpsons is wrapped tightly into our collective psyche. That's why on this episode of Constantly Calibrating we decided to delve into our favorite video games, episode, and even characters from the long-running series.

Before that you'll of course find some news on our recent Microsoft Store excursion, Microsoft buying Mojang?, the anniversary of the Dreamcast, and new news out of Apple.
