    Happy New Year! We are back once again after the podcast studio was taken down. It is the 11th day of Christmas which is the Pipers Piping. I don't know much about Pipers or piping.     This week the boys decided to pour through the most recent edition of ABSA's AB-506  "Inspection and Servicing Requirements for In-Service Pressure Equipment". 

    One of the back-bone documents of their local regulator- ABSA 

    AB-506 was created to assist owners & owner/users develop an effective integrity management program which spans the lifecycle of their equipment from construction to decommissioning.  

    The document (AB-506) also lays out some rules for inspection companies and organizations who provide services to owner-users help maintain these programs, as well as the people who conduct the inspections. 

    In the first part of this two part series the boys walk through the document covering some basic terminology "they" deemed important from section 2, and have casual conversation about sections 3 through 10.

In the conclusion to this 2 part technical series the boys discuss applying what they learned in the previous episode to real life repair and fabrication scenarios. Mastering ASME section IX is just the beginning, now the real work begins. Registration, construction code compliance, and welder qualifications. Oh and don't forget about the CWB, your hosts will attempt to decipher WPS data sheets and how to apply them. This episode really brings it all together and puts a real life perspective on WPS review for the pressure equipment integrity industry.
