    About Maxime

He Had his Own Struggle With Food, Self-Confidence And Being Fat!

There was a point where Maxime weighed 240 lbs! He wasn't happy with where his body was at. One day he was driving and he hit a speed bump and it made his "Moobs" at the time and stomach jiggle for too long. That was it!!!  He decided that he wasn't going to be a chunky man with breast! He wanted to be fit, healthy and take control of his life so that he could perform at the best of his ability,  which he did!

Since then he competed in several Ironman 70.3, triathlon, spartan races and  built multiple successful companies. All on a 100% Plant-Based Lifestyle. Moreover, he was inspired by his personal story, which he shares here on the Green Life with us.

995: Emily Eldh Owner of The Muffin Drop

Emily Eldh is the Founder and Owner of The Muffin Drop. Emily learned in her teens that she has an autoimmune disease that was worsened by her diet. She then realized how powerful food as medicine can be, and started creating a diet for herself that healed her. She began making planet-based, gluten-free food options, most-famously her homemade muffins, and started to sell them out of her parents home in Connecticut in 2021. The journey started with the hit banana chocolate chip mini muffin and she has since added many more flavors and does pop ups, wholesale, and nation-wide shipping - all this in under 2 years!

Howard Panes: Billion Dollar Brand Builder

Howard Panes: Billion Dollar Brand Builder

This week we take a deep dive with serial entrepreneur, fitness specialist, and plant-based food pioneer, Howard "Howie" Panes! He shares his passion for healthy living, plant-based foods for kids, fitness, and building a scalable business.

Howie is the co-founder of Mighty Yum, a plant-based substitute for Lunchables that provides kids with healthy, quick, and tasty meals. His mission is to curate ingredients with such great flavors that you wouldn't even believe it's plant-based. (I ordered them for my daughter…and I have been sneaking a few for myself…I can say they’ve earned their name, MIGHTY YUM!)

Howie affirms the importance of proper nutrition for children's development, cognition, and health. He also shared his personal business philosophy through the "HOWIE" acronym: Health, Originality, Work, Innovation, and Energy. Which is no surprise, as Howie is the inventor of Stealth Core Trainer, a revolutionary fitness product and tech platform that transforms fitness into fun, entertaining games with an aim to make exercise enjoyable, engaging, and a rewarding experience instead of a boring, monotonous chore.

With a track record of scaling an e-cig business to 100M+ in sales in its first 18 months, and earning the nickname “Billion Dollar Brand Builder” I made sure Howie shared his insights and top factors that it takes to successfully scale a business.

Dr Dean Ornish: Reversing and Preventing Chronic Diseases Through Lifestyle Changes

In his book Un Do It Dr. Dean Ornish has pioneered research that has revealed the importance of lifestyle changes as an effective tool in reversing and preventing certain chronic diseases and even reversing the aging process at the cellular level.

Among his recommendations is a whole-foods, plant-based diet and exercises, stress management, and friends and family connections, as well as reducing loneliness and depression. His research, which has been put into a book titled "Undo It" has shown that major lifestyle modifications can be far more effective than medications in fighting certain conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, prostate cancer, and Alzheimer’s.

In this video, Dr. Dean Ornish discusses his book Un Do It, which discusses heart disease and a plant-based diet. He explains how these two factors are linked, and how a plant-based diet can help to prevent or reverse heart disease.

If you're looking to improve your health and prevent heart disease, be sure to watch this video! Dr. Ornish shares his insights on a plant-based diet and why it's such a powerful tool for preventing and reversing heart disease.

    What Is Tofu?

Tofu -- or bean curd -- is made by pressing curdling soy milk into a solid block. Some tofu is firm while others are more soft and smooth. It can be sliced into different shapes and cooked in lots of ways.

People in Japan have made tofu for more than 2,000 years. It’s gotten popular in other places more recently.

Some people complain that it's bland, but it nicely takes on the flavor of the sauce or seasonings you prepare it with. And it's got a lot of health benefits going for it.

    Tofu Health Benefits

Like other soy-based foods, tofu contains plant estrogens. For many years, people thought soy added too much estrogen to your body and led to breast cancer in women.

But much of the research that raised that concern looked at the effects of soy on rodents. Those animals process soy differently than humans do. Studies with people show that tofu doesn't have enough plant estrogens to cause breast cancer. And some research suggests tofu may lower your risk of the disease.
