A message from Galatians 4:21-31

The apex of the Christian life is found in the statement, “You are all children of God by Faith in Christ Jesus.” From this statement flows some of the deepest truths about our identity, and our inheritance. 

Listen as we study Galatians 3:26-4:7 together. 

How does the Gospel motivate us to serve, and also to lose while winning as we apply it to all our relationships? We find out in this message from Romans 12:14-21.

The gospel is this: we are not loved because we are intrinsically lovely or because we have made ourselves worthy of love. We are loved because Jesus died for us when we were unattractive in order to make us attractive.

When we love others, and repent of our selfishness at the same time, we become more and more sincere in our love towards others and empty of our hypocrisy.

Text: Romans 12:9-16

Paul correct Peter at Antioch for his hypocrisy in not walking according to the truth of the gospel. When we don't live according to the Gospel, we live hypocritically. 

What are some causes of hypocrisy, what are its consequences, and how do can we cure ourselves from hypocrisy in our own lives? We find out in this message from Galatians 2:11-21.

In Galatians 2:1-10 we see how the gospel benefits the church and brings us to proper unity in Jesus Christ.

In Galatians 2:10-24 Paul gives his testimony not to draw attention to himself as being of use and potential to God and therefore "redeemable", but rather to highlight that the true Gospel of Jesus Christ is all of God's grace.

One of the most obvious and overlooked facts about the historical context of Galatians is that Paul is writing to believers, who have deserted the message of the true gospel, for one that has mixed in performance-driven acceptance based on obedience to Mosaic Law.

Galatians is not only Bible evidence that legalism is possible in believers, it is evidence that it is common in believers. 

Through our fleshly desire to be our own savior, and the hero of our own story we are primed to accept teaching that says, “God is pleased with you when you...”
“People who live in certain ways have a special anointing... or more power...”

We love these mystical messages that give us the ability to be higher than others, and worthy of salvation. 

But these are fables that contain parts of the gospel, but ultimately have perverted the relationship with God that the gospel delivers to us.
