We had some big gaming news over the last week between EVO 2023 and Pokémon Presents, thus giving us something to feast on before Gamescon. Meanwhile there has been a lot of movement out of Hollywood, not necessarily on the strike front, but news nonetheless. Barbie made a billion in under 20 days, Disney+ is following in Netflix's footsteps, and while Max is pulling a pandemic Netflix. Lin Manuel Miranda wants to adapt a classic for the stage, and Pixar isn't worried about the future. We cap off the show with the best movies from the 1970s.

This week is dominated by the affects of the WGA strike so lets talk about what is gonna get delayed. Also gaming seems to be beating at a normal pace so nothing major, other then EA posing massive profits, shocker, I know. And of course we have a review of Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3.

We've got a John Wick Chapter 4 review in todays episode so make sure to stick around till the end. More news on the Microsoft Activision merger, E3 faces another loss, and Guerilla clarifies why the Horizon Forbidden West DLC is on PS5 only. Star Trek announces its 2023 plans, HBO may be toying with our hearts, and Daredevil may be around longer then we expected. Will the ActivisionBlizzard deal ever stop making for great content? Because at this point its the gift that keeps on giving. Paradox interactive announces a slew of new games and DLC including Cities: Skylines II, Starfield finally has a new release date, and Google Admits it can't do cloud games alone. Paramount+ pulls the plug on Star Trek Discovery, maybe? Jon Bernthal joins the MCU, The Mandalorian shows a Star Wars beast of mythical proportions and Star Trek Picard brings back and old enemy. Also what's going on at Lucasfilm in regards to Star Wars film future?

We had a lot of investor news this week, between WB's earnings call, the Sony State of Play, and a Pokémon Presents. EA wants to beef up production on Battlefield, while Ubisoft seems to be less and less interested in beyond good and evil 2 with each passing day. HBO Max loses one prequel and gains another. The Mando is back, and the Lord of the Rings may be as well. That and more come take a listen.

Pokémon is just cool, plain and simple. Pokémon doing a crossover with your favorite anime is infinitely cooler. In this episode we're doing just that, again! This time we're imagining a new Pokémon region where the gym leaders are characters from various other anime. Assigning them each a team of Pokémon to accompany them in their newfound profession.
