It's that time of year again when the 4Nerds1Podcast join the program to celebrate Pokémon Day with Trap Ketchum to celebrate the popular video game franchise from Nintendo. Misty Hatake has also accompanied the host of the program, because of course he has stolen her bike. Trap has been encouraging his friends to return to recording for some time now (5:20), as Rob the Noob, Producer Abz, and Izzy Takamono subliminally hint at a return with a relative nerd topic to start the show. With the significant focus on Pokémon Scarlet and Violet versions being the latest releases for the core franchise, the nerd collective does not hesitate to give Generation IX some solid criticism (14:00). Trap also wants to know about their gaming experience of the latest Nintendo Switch game (28:10), as he been a primary catalyst of encouraging his guests that Pokémon is indeed still going strong; even outside the core series. Trap Ketchum expects that the Scarlet and Violet will receive DLC with their first patch updates to upgrade the game (43:00), as Izzy makes his exit to go and capture Dialga in order to get more time for the episode. With the latest Nintendo Direct releasing their feature for 2023, the nerd collective begins discussing the releases of the Pokémon Presents feature that will also be released (62:15). With Game Boy and Game Boy Advanced porting to the Switch, it is inevitable to believe that classic Pokémon games will also be released. Pokémon Stadium 1&2 will finally be available on the N64 online feature for the console, how else will the enhancing features of the original games be available?  As the rest of the collective reveal their wish list on what will be announced on Pokémon Day, they all look back at the classic anime character Ash Ketchum being retired from television (77:10); and try to ponder what will happen next for the 'AniPoke' community. With Generation III in the books recorded on the EstoBro TV Podcast, nerds unite everywhere to celebrate this video game holiday. The Gents are back on the air, and flooding your internet stream for your 2023 podcast preferences. EstoBro and TV are out for blood against Skip Bayless (0:30) when he made a very controversial tweet about Damar Hamlin after his injury during the final Monday Night Football game of the regular season. There was a major concern for the Buffalo Bills' safety after making that tackle, we are hopeful of his recovery and return to the gridiron one day. Fresh from the holiday offseason, EstoBro was excited to ring in the New Year with his co-host TV up in his neck of the woods. After sharing the adventures of New York, the Gents get to business to discuss the loss of great football icon Pelé (13:30) who passed away at the end of 2022. A major ambassador to the sport, the Brazilian legend graced the pitch to always make the game of football (soccer) beautiful for anyone spectating. Before the major break, the Gents never got a chance to highlight the end of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar (19:10), and while they discuss Pelé as a "GOAT," Lionel Messi has definitely made his case after bringing home the World Cup to Argentina. TV is hyped to dive into video games for 2023 (26:15) because he unwrapped an Xbox Series X for Christmas. EstoBro adds to the conversation on what games he played through the holidays and eventually cuts down games on the infamous backlogged video game list. The start of the year also means new season releases for anime (38:30), and the Gents want to discuss more on the topic this year especially when it crosses over to other relative genres on the show. From Chainsaw Man to Spy X Family, EstoBro and TV are ready to celebrate some of their favorite stories in many forms of media. Finally, in nerd news, the Gents also want to discuss what movies they are excited to start the year (46:30). After a weird year in film for 2022, the Gents look forward to what is coming to the movie theater in 2023 from Transformers: Rise of Beasts to the latest installment of John Wick.  In the 'Who has the munchies?' segment, EstoBro reflects on enjoying Sunday dinner at Hello Nurse's family home (64:00). TV's better half was more than welcome to have EstoBro and Mandy Hatake in her Italian home and meet her beautiful family.  EstoBro and TV are looking forward to an amazing 2023 with more shows and new guests.
