Mario Quintero (Spotlights)
Ross chats with guitarist, vocalist, engineer, and all around rad dude Mario of the band Spotlights. A power trio that offers some the most developed blankets of sounds, heaviest of tones, and unbelievably tight orchestrastion out there. They talk gear, recording, touring with Failure, filling in with Shiner, working with Mike Patton, playing with The Melvins, and so much more.
Spotlight's newest album Alchemy for the Dead is available wherever you listen to music, and they are currently on the road playing near you. DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS SHOW. Go see this band and get pummelled by the heavy, moved by the tone, and tucked in by the gnarliness of it all.

First off, Chris does his best to justify why he chose Nick Drake's Pink Moon. After they do their review of that, Ryan shows off Earth's classic album, The Bees Made Honey in the Lion's Skull. S01E10 - Saluti Da Cortina

S2 E21 - Oscar Negrete on Psychology, Quarantine, and Art
Oscar is a long time friend of mine who is a therapist and musician in Tepic, Mexico. We have collaborated on music in the past and always have incredible conversations. Today we discuss life in Mexico during quarantine, what he has learned in his work as a psychologist, and how art can restore a person.
We also talk about his band Monoceros and what it has been like being in a post-rock band in Mexico since the 2000's. Enjoy the talk!
Episode 434: Jeff Parker
On today's episode I talk to musician Jeff Parker. Originally from Hampton, Virginia, Jeff has been playing music since he was 8-years-old. Eventually ending up in Chicago, he became a member of the experimental post-rock group Tortoise in 1996 and also co-founded Isotope 217 and The Chicago Underground Trio. He's worked with everyone from Meshell Ndegeocello to Smog, and has released six solo albums. His latest, Suite for Max Brown, was released earlier this year on the Nonesuch imprint International Anthem.
