Our first Prayer Sunday of 2018. Near the very end we hear a picture that is very powerful.

On this Prayer Sunday we are encouraged to be generous as we pray. This Talk starts off with the stories of the Prodigal Son and Good Samaritan being told. Was it the same person in Jesus’ mind? As our heavenly Father forgives us for what we have done, so we can go out with His power to bless and encourage others.Just as God loves a cheerful and non-reluctant giver (2 Corinthians 9:7), so surely He must love a cheerful and non-reluctant pray-er?We are reminded to be inspired by reading the many prayers that are in the Bible, as well as those that have been written down in recent decades and centuries. Listening to others pray is often helpful as well as using objects to spark our activity. God is “..able to do immeasurably more than all we can ask or imagine…” (Ephesians 3:20).You might find it useful to look on our website to look at the PowerPoint slides as you listen to this audio.

Here we have a very brief Introduction to our Prayer Sunday. There were five areas we could pray about: the EU Referendum, Local Issues, International Issues, The Persecuted Church and Healing. The Printed Materials for today give some feedback as to what people prayed about.
