Joseph wanted to talk about an insight Frank Sheed had in Theology and Sanity, about how original man was gifted with not only a helpmate for the work of the world, but also a helpmate for the work of worship. Our neighbor, our spouse, our friends, our family, our fellow-parishioners-- these are all given to us as gifts, and one way to experience their giftedness is to be joined in prayer with them.
