A credible threat that a lone wolf -inspired by ISIS-
would attack Virginia over Halloween weekend put
everyone on alert and police increased their
presence. So far, it hasn’t happened, but is it too
soon to breathe a sigh of relief? Absolutely!
Though terrorists like to kill and injure as many as
possible, the Virginia terrorists were at least able to
accomplish part of their plan, that of spreading
terror, because the warnings about the attack
triggered memories of the 2017 Halloween attack
in NYC. We’ll revisit ghosts of Halloweens Past
and you’ll hear about the NYC lone wolf, Sayfullo
Saipov, who was also inspired by ISIS.
Rumor and Intel had it that the terrorists planning
the 2021 Halloween attack were Afghan refugees.
And, indeed, since a literally unknown number of
jihadists snuck in amongst our Afghan friends, who
we transported to America, we are likely to see
them perpetrate attacks in the future.
Finally, you will get two ’treats’ this Halloween Eve:
two stories that will provide some gallows humor.
They are so scary and unbelievable that you will
want to find the humor in them - dark though it is.
The first relates to an historic hotel in the UK, now
overrun with out of control Afghan refugees. The
second relates to UC Berkley students who happily
pledge money to kill Americans inside the U.S.
