    Ep. 166: A Woman Scorned... 4

    Ep. 166: A Woman Scorned... 4

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned! This week is our fourth in the series celebration of the gender with the most attitude and pure ferocity. Inspired by a show that Kevin played with his band The Swear a week ago, where he took a moment and paused onstage to witness 2 badass ladies commanding the stage like bosses! Per usual, we focus on women that truly rock! Ladies that play loud and heavy with attitude, grit, and that rasp.

What’s this InObscuria thing? We’re a podcast that exhumes obscure Rock n' Punk n' Metal and puts them in one of 3 categories: the Lost, the Forgotten, or the Should Have Beens. These ladies bring it, and you owe to yourself to check them out! We hope we turn you on to Lydia’s Castle. Do yourself a favor and go stream, download, or pick up a physical copy of their new self-titled EP now!

    Songs this week include:

    1. DeMona – “Corporate Hell” from Corporate Hell - single (2023)
    2. Voice Of Baceprot – “School Revolution” from School Revolution - single (2018)
    3. Sheer Mag – “Turn It Up” from Need To Feel Your Love (2017)
    4. The L.I.F.E. Project – “Purgatory” from The L.I.F.E. Project - EP (2021)
    5. Witness – “Show Me What You Got” from Witness (1988)
    6. Private Life – “Touch Me” from Private Life (1990)
    7. Die Once – “Sacrifice” from Sacrifice (2017)

Moving Forward (Feat. Vir Das) - Simple Ken | EP 37

Moving Forward (Feat. Vir Das) - Simple Ken | EP 37

Having Vir on SimpleKen was a long time coming. I picked his brain on how he navigated through the initial days of his career, his support in the industry , how he deals with the constant press chatter and how he plans his steps ahead. A career that involves television, movies, music and stand up, An hour of conversation didn't feel enough. It was a great way to bring the new year in with a brand new episode.

Carol Platt Liebau: Justice Kavanaugh and the Erosion of Boundaries in a Civil Society

Carol Platt Liebau: Justice Kavanaugh and the Erosion of Boundaries in a Civil Society

Last week, Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh had to leave Morton’s Steak House through a back door, after protestors assembled outside and called the manager, telling him to kick Kavanaugh out.

The White House apparently has no problem with these tactics. Asked about the restaurant protest, the president’s spokeswoman insisted, “That’s what democracy is.”

Except, of course, that it’s not. There’s a law against intimidating federal judges. And any rational person understands the distinction between protesting a ruling at a federal building and stalking a person at dinner with his family.

No democracy—or democratic republic—can long survive without a healthy civil society. And that, in turn, depends on a citizenry mature enough to acknowledge the boundaries between private and public life.

Without those boundaries, a common life marked by mutual respect becomes impossible, and our country will become ever-more-deeply fractured.

It’s a lesson the left needs to learn.

    S1E8 - Article 8 - Right to Private Life

Do police officers have a right to a private life? When can that right be interfered with? Are officers entitled to have a reasonable expectation of privacy? Is the interference with the right to a private life necessary and in the pursuit of a legitimate aim?

In this podcast, Solicitor Deborah Britstone and John Beggs Queen’s Counsel examine the right to a private life and how far this extends to police officers both in respect of on duty and off duty conduct.

    #JCsMusicology - Grace Jones (1979 - 1983)
In this June episode of #JCsMusicology, we bow down to the incomparable Grace Jones. After a trilogy of disco albums to mix reception, a new trilogy of new wave, punk, r'n'b and reggae would inspire, provoke and change the conventionality of pop music in the 80s. We dive into the confronting "Warm Leatherette", the pop masterpiece "Nightclubbing" and the closing "Living My Life". EP10: A Very Personal Update on What Has Been Happening in My Personal Life
Todays episode is very personal and raw. It is not based around marketing and is more a very personal update from Chris on what has been happening in my personal life. I am completely open in this episode, and in some ways it kind of explains the WHY I went offline and lot everything in the past before I began my journey back online.
