EP 26: Classical Theism or Process Theology: The Concept of God Chapter 2

EP 26: Classical Theism or Process Theology: The Concept of God Chapter 2

As Norman Geisler once said, there are really only two concepts of a theistic God: Thomism (classical theism) and process theology. In this discussion, we look at chapter 2 of Ron Nash's The Concept of God and look at these two different conceptions to set up our future lessons on divine attributes.

    Journey of a Soul

    Journey of a Soul

While floating above the whole of reality (viewing you in the universe, the universe and God), a soul's journey is described as it emerges inside God, enters the universe, lands inside a physical human body, exits the body upon the body's demise, travels the universe to re-enter God and finally downloads its experiencing into God.

The purpose of its/your travels, is explained in detail.

    Two Cosmoses

    Two Cosmoses

Process Theology deals with two cosmoses. The physical universe being one cosmos, being our temporary home. The outside of the universe being the second cosmos, being our permanent home, being the region from which we came and the region to which we will eventually return. The names given to each cosmos by Process Theology describes what occurs within each cosmos.
