Who knew such judgement would be thrown at Max from the believers.... Henry Rollins comes to town doing a spoken word show. at the end of Feb. 2003 Max & Jeff discuss an ICP & 2 Live Crew show at the Diamond Ballroom. Throughout numerous episodes Max has discussed "issues... problems.... & show stoppers"... This ICP show had a show stopper situation that had to be corrected. When you rent venues to put on shows, occasionally you've got to fix those show stoppers to ensure the show happens.... THE SHOW MUST GO ON! Jeff & Max discuss the Mad Dogs & Englishmen reunited show April of 2003 with Joe Cocker & Leon Russell. We all agree, in one of the biggest rock n roll feud's of all time, we're all Team Leon!

Christo Van Rensburg is a former pro tennis player, hailing from South Africa. 

He was ranked #1 in the world in doubles, won 20 top-level doubles titles during his career, including one Grand Slam men’s doubles title in 85’. Christo ranked as high as #19 in the world in singles, and is one of only two men to beat Pete Sampras in straight sets at Wimbledon.

Christo’s wife, Monica van Rensburg (Reinach) also played at Wimbledon, along with her sister, Elna Reinach, making them a truly elite tennis family — but the most humble, welcoming, and incredible people you’ll meet. 

Christo and the fam now run “Dropshot Series”, a tennis tournament promotion company hosting pro tennis events in Austin, TX. They’ve hosted several USTA/ ITF level events and are now hosting the very first WTA Tour event — The ATX Open — which is 1 of only 5 women’s only WTA Tour level events in the USA.

Christo runs Dropshot Series with Bryan Sheffield, Tournament Promoter and Founder of DropShot, who also owns stake in MLS team Austin FC, and founded Parsley Energy.

In addition to all this, Christo also gives back to the game by way of coaching — and coaches elite players like Fernanda Contreras Gomez along with having captained South Africa in the Davis Cup, coaching up players like University of Georgia’s Philip Henning.

We talk about a couple of Days of The New / Travis Meeks shows as well as a historic Mr. Bungle show! Max tells the story about talking to David Lee Roth on the phone to buy CD Stock of the new DLR record for Choice Music, not realizing he was talking to Diamond Dave! Speaking of Choice Music, If you love Hanson, you should thank Max for carrying their independent release before blowing up for their success! If you hate Hanson, you should blame Max, its all his fault!!! Max talks about carrying their Cassette's & CD's before signing their Major Label record deal & singing acapella in Choice Music for him. Occasionally, Max will drop some gems, you just have to be there to pick up the knowlege. In this episode, he explains how Afroman gets his hustle on in certain states.... October 28, 1997 - Max attended The Rolling Stones at Owen Field in Norman & watched the show from the 2nd Row! Dylan fell asleep, catches a pick from Keith Richards. Max discusses his youngest son Austin being put on stage with Aerosmith by Steven Tyler at the Starplex in Dallas, TX. November 26th, 1997, the night before Thanksgiving, Toadies, Nixons, & Baboon played the Diamond Ballroom. Max & Jeff discuss the successes that can be had doing shows the day before Thanksgiving when people travel back home. Creed came through OKC for the first time at the Boar's Head in French Market Mall for only $8. Thats the last time you could've seen them for only $8. We discuss a show in June of 1998 w/ Junkie XL, Pitchshifter, & Gravity Kills at the Will Rogers Theater.
