    Post-synchro #82

Welcome to the sound club !

Radio Dale 46 - Christmas Songs at Radio

Radio Dale 46 - Christmas Songs at Radio
Some people have started hearing Christmas music on their radio as recently as late October, but at the Dale Speaking office, it's been on our minds since September. How much advance time should you give your Christmas single if you're going to radio...or should you stick to releasing online. Why does Christmas music matter? We talk all things Christmas on today's podcast! Radio Dale is the podcast for independent musicians and people interested in the Canadian music industry from our unique perspective at the Dale Speaking offices. We help bring indie and established acts to radio, and spread the word online, as well as develop their careers in today's ever-changing music business. This podcast gives away some of our best information for free, and serves as the 'radio show' to broadcast the ideas, observations and insights we discover every day working with Canadian and International artists. PART ONE: This Week In Music History, Neil Young or Roo Old? http://thisdayinmusic.com This Week On The Charts, Arcade Fire does it again! India's Campus Report finds...yup, you guessed it...Arcade Fire! INTERMISSION: Following their top ten hit, 'Tomorrow,' Crash Karma are back with a new single: 'Man On Trial.' PART 2: Amber, Roo and India discuss Christmas music. Should you do a cover or write an original? Do people even care about original Christmas music today? When is it too late to bring your Christmas song to radio? Does adding jingle bells to a song make it Christmas? And more importantly...'why' are you releasing a Christmas single? Do you have a strategy behind it? Are you wasting a great opportunity? Do you have a Christmas song? Why not send it our way so we can give it a listen!
