Welcome to RAGBRAI - the [Des Moines] Register Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa.  Six days, two rivers, one state.  For the last 50 years bicyclists from all over the globe have descended on Iowa for the opportunity to spend six days riding (not racing) over 450 miles from the western edge of the state on the Missouri River to the eastern boundary at the Mississippi River.  Its big business and so are bikes all over the Hawkeye State.

RAGBRAI - In case you haven't heard, it's the Register Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa - a recurring event originally started by the Des Moines Register in 1973,  that drew over 60,000 folks to the Hawkeye State during its 50th Anniversary this year.   Truck side underride guards - this safety feature has the ability to save hundreds, but safety advocates and trucking industry veterans are at odds with how to implement it.  Finally, with the big move toward locating manufacturing and warehousing facilities in or near the United States underway big time, companies are coming up against challenges.
