I was scrolling on social media, and I just happen to see a young woman in red with a Monique attitude telling the crowd that they were just standing but not grooving. She said Whoa Whoa ... wait!  Y'all ain't grooving into this groove the way y'all need to be grooving into this groove.
I asked out loud: Is that Janet Jackson? And it was. When I got the question out of my mouth, I heard her say: That's right, baby, groove.

I was so tickled because I have never seen Janet Jackson with a Monique attitude. Usually she has a sweet and shy attitude. Now, you know how music artist do in concert. They make dialogue a part of the act when they are singing sometimes. If that was what Janet was doing, she had a powerful and meaningful expression. I've never seen her act like that before.

So the next time if you go to a Janet Jackson concert, remember,  y'all need to groove. Don't stand around like you're dead. You know what you are going to see when you get tickets to a Janet Jackson concert. I'm Gail Nobles. ...

Apollo Liberace has spent his whole life involved in music, dating back to when he was a just a
young child. Now the hip-hop/R&B artist feels that he is putting out some of his best material
yet, with his single “If I Said I Had the Answers, Would You Listen” set to be released on his
birthday, February 27.His newest song is an R&B track that will be complete with a music video featuring himself and his girlfriend “Wolves.” It captures the essence of love and being in a relationship, and Apollo Liberace said it is melodic, while also featuring a little bit of rap and indie vibes. “The song is talking about everything you go through in a relationship,” he said. “The main lyrics are, ‘so cry alone, or you can cry on me if you want to.’ Just talking about two different people in a relationship. It’s displaying all the emotions you go through when you’re happy together. If you
love somebody it’s never going to always be great. It’s really who you’re with, to argue with, the
rest of your life.” Also in the works is a single titled “Paradise,” featuring Tyla Yaweh, who has worked with the likes of Post Malone, Chris Brown and Wiz Khalifa. Down the line, Apollo Liberace has plans to create an EP. He said the first song is mostly R&B, but others will feature him on acoustic guitar with a more “indie-folk” feel. “It’s a lot different than what I’ve done before,” he said. “I think it’s the best music I’ve made. It’s real and full of emotion, with different stories.”
Apollo Liberace uses life experiences as his source of inspiration when making music. This
includes the travel he has done, relationships he has been in, heartbreaks and success along
the way. The more you do in life, the more your brain expands,” he said. “And once it expands, it doesn’t
go back. It changes it in every way. Once you see outside the country, you realize how big the
world is. It definitely influences all of it.”
Apollo Liberace started his musical journey at a young age, singing in the church choir and at
youth camps. He wrote and recorded his first song when he was 10-years-old while living in San
Antonio, Texas. He followed in the footsteps of his older sister, who was producing records and
performing. When Apollo Liberace was 12 he had already found success while working
alongside his sister, singing originals along with covers of the Jackson 5 and James Brown
before turning to the hip-hop scene.
When he was 15 he moved to South Korea due to his parents being on military assignment.
While there, he performed as the opening act in the G-Unit Far East Tour, and was eventually
signed by Korea Def Jam Far East.
He moved back to the San Antonio where he had a song on the radio at the age of 17, and
performed at events with thousands of people every weekend. After a stint in Atlanta and then
moving to Los Angeles, Apollo’s hip-hop trio Minus Gravity was signed by Capitol Records and
had success making music. The group split ways after about a decade together, which he said was hard because they were friends he had known since he was a kid. But since then, things have been taking off for Apollo Liberace. He is not only working on putting out new music, but will also be on a Paramount Plus television show with TV personality Chanel West Coast coming out this summer.
“Things just started falling out of the sky for me,” he said. “I’ve got so many things in the works.”
The namesake of Apollo Liberace pays homage to the Greek god of music, and also the
eccentricity and flashiness of legendary pianist Liberace. He can relate to both, as his style is a
bit different than the average person, but also has some edge.
“I really liked his story and his showmanship, basically,” he said. “So I combined those two
things.” Apollo Liberace loves the pure creativity that making music brings to his life. For a long time he was creating what he thought other people would enjoy, but now he is making music for himself
and he feels that it is top tier. Apollo Liberace is focused on making “true art.”
“There are limitless possibilities,” he said. “Whatever you think of, and then seeing the outcome
and being able to hear what you did with the rhythm is always inspiring. There’s always magic to
it, just being able to create.” He added, “I think that’s what music is: convergence of different feelings and different energies. What I put into the mic or the studio that day, I think that will come out. I hope people catch those same moods and feelings, and I think they will with this new music, for sure.” Be sure to check out Apollo Liberace’s music available on all platforms.

Today's topic: Aretha Franklin - You're All I Need To Get By. There are several notable cover versions of the song.

Johnny Mathis and Denise Williams, Tony Orlando and Dawn, and some others have cover versions of the song You're All I Need To Get By. It was originally recorded by R&B soul duo Marvin Gaye and Tammy Terrell and released on Motown records Tamia label in 1968.

The song was written by Nicholas Ashford and Valerie Simpson. It became one of the few Motown recordings of the 1960s that was not recorded with the familiar Motown sound. Instead the song had a more soulful and gospel oriented theme surrounding it that was influenced by the writers who also sing background vocals on the recording sharing vocals in a church choir in New York City.

You're All I Need To Get By was a great song for Aretha Franklin to sing, and she recorded the song as a single in 1971. The song was also included on her compilation album Aretha's Greatest Hits release later the same year. Her version peaked at number 19 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number three on the Hot Soul Singles chart. It also features in a 2020 holiday advertisement for Walmart.

Most people love the original version of You're All I Need To Get By. Aretha knew how to sing her version without leaving the original way of singing it, but still singing it her way. Her version is loved too, and already the song had a gospel sound, and Aretha was also known for singing gospel. The song was just right for Aretha Franklin.

Thank you for tuning in and listening to today's topic Aretha Franklin. You're All I Need To Get By. Tune in again next time for more. I'm Gail Nobles.

    https://www.musicbynikka.com/
NIKKA is Kansas-City-based, Tampa-raised, Eastern European refugee who moved to the States in the early 2000’s. I was always singing as a kid and credit it as one of the main ways I picked up English quickly. (Although, I had a few mishaps, like singing Ludacris’s “Move B***h” as a 5-year-old when I wanted people out of my way at the pool.) Though I've loved singing my whole life, I didn't start seriously writing songs until the pandemic hit and I spent most of my days inside humming the same melodies to myself. Being a storyteller at heart, I started the explore the idea of creating songs to process my feelings about situations that I didn't say the right thing in the moment it mattered. Music has become my way of filling in the gaps of life experiences and moving forward.
I grew up listening to all genres, but Mariah Carey, Shakira, Taylor Swift, My Chemical Romance, and Green Day were some favorite inspirations that can be found in my music. I hope you take a moment to connect with my songs and share them if they've had an impact on you.

Creator to Creators S5 Ep 15 Shanti Chapman

Creator to Creators S5 Ep 15 Shanti Chapman
Former Army Musician Shanti Chapman’s latest single, “Joy Comes in the Morning,” is an R&B
song that speaks to a universal audience. The new song showcases Chapman’s talent for
    heartfelt lyrics and soothing melodies.
Chapman said, “It’s a testament to the power of music to uplift the soul. The music is very
simple and powerful. It doesn’t get in the way of the message. It has familiar elements, but also
unique elements, as far as the orchestration and progression of chords.
“It falls in line with what I feel my mission is in life. I want to draw out the best in people and
give them hope for a brighter future. I want those that are hurting and yearning to find
something greater than themselves to be touched by my music."
For “Joy Comes in the Morning,” Chapman took a draft to the accomplished producer Tré
Corley of Hendersonville, Tennessee. He took Chapman’s work and turned it musically into
what it is. Chapman sang the lead, while Corley’s wife contributed background vocals.
Chapman, a former United States Army musician, learned to be dedicated, resilient, disciplined,
and to pay attention to detail. Raised in a household full of music, his father was very musical.
Shanti took piano lessons as a child. He found joy in picking out melodies by ear on the piano.
His life's musical journey has included hip-hop, R&B songs, and everything else from Jazz to
    Gospel music.
In addition to his recent single, Shanti Chapman is excited to share an upcoming project with
listeners. Leading up to the holiday season, Chapman will be releasing an original Christmas
single. He is also working on a large project with his label, DeMaskUs Music Group. “The
project will be collaborative. I’m planning on aligning myself with artists in the industry who
want to use music as a tool to provide hope and healing as well as entertainment.”
When he isn’t working on new music, Shanti Chapman devotes himself to his family and
community. For the past 10 months, he has been working with the homeless population and
trying to find solutions to fix a broken system.
Make sure to stay connected to Shanti Chapman on all platforms for new music, videos, and
    social posts.

Hello! I'm Gail Nobles, and you're listening to the Cat Bear.

On Wed. May 24, 2023, legendary singer Tina Turner died after a “long illness”. She was the age of 83. She is known as the “ Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll.

I think of her singing, “We Dont Need Another Hero (Thunderdome)". It became one of Turner’s biggest hit singles. It peaked at number 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100. It appeared in the 1985 film Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome which starred Mel Gibson and Tina Turner.

The song reminds me of the time that we are living in now. We see a lot of debate, war, and disasters. The song can mean a lot of things to different people.

Tina Turner will always be remembered. She had a great impact on music, fans, and listeners. I had hoped to see her more in movies, but she gave us plenty of great memories in songs. “What’s Love Got To Do With It”, “Private Dancer”, and more. And songs she has sung with Ike like “Proud Mary”. Tina Turner! The Queen of Rock And Roll.

You're listening to Postgirl’s Recordings, The Meaning of Songs. I'm going to leave you now with your meaning in your mind remembering Turner’s song, “We Dont Need Another Hero (Thunderdome)". Remembering The Queen of Rock N Roll, Tina Turner.
