Season 4 Episode 18 | Iran Protests and The World Cup in Qatar
⚠️ NOTE: This episode is intended for mature audiences only, as there is mention of sexual crimes against women in Iran.
Our team revisits the protests around human rights violations in Iran and the extension of the protests with the Iranian team at the World Cup in Qatar.
Included is the heart-wrenching interview with Noushin, an Iranian-American who describes the atrocities she and others have endured. We felt it was important to air this important interview unedited. Although it is difficult to hear, it is important to listen and understand the frustration and helplessness of the people.
NOTE: This episode is intended for mature audiences only, as there is an acknowledgment of sexual crimes against women in Iran.
Thank You for listening to THE GETTING INTO GOOD TROUBLE PODCAST, a project of the Innovation Diploma program of The Mount Vernon Upper School in Atlanta, Ga.

GROW Greatness Reached over Oppression through Wisdom
The Casino is Oppressing our people. Before I met my husband I tried the boat. It took me 5 minutes to lose $60 so I knew that wasn't it. For some, that first small win is what get you hooked and like crack you are mentally enslaved cause you ain't gonna win. It ain't in it for you to win it so please change your mindset.
A personal mental health story.
***We are spiritual, not religious. We prayed to God through our Ancestors. It has been 400 years since that first ship docked bringing our Ancestors to the New World now known as the United States. Slaves were kidnapped and their descendants are now scattered all over the world. Since then, we have been enslaved, beaten, raped, lynched, burned, maimed, tortured beyond belief, hunted, slaughtered, intimidated, discriminated, and now, as a result, we Oppress ourselves and each other in the exact same way. NO MORE THE ANCESTORS SAY! IT STOPS NOW OR YOU WILL BE SEVERELY JUDGED! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Hope and Healing After Sexual Assault with Kristine Irwin
***Trigger Warning***
This is a heavier episode as we speak of rape, eating disorders, and mental health. If you are suffering or recovering from a mood or mental disorder and/or a victim of sexual assault or abuse, please listen with caution or skip this episode. The last thing I would want is for hearing these things to set you back in your healing journey or to trigger negative thoughts or emotions. Also, if you are a bit more sensitive or an empath, you also may want to listen with caution.

Kristine Irwin is a wife, mother, and advocate for ending sexual violence. She strives to bring change to our culture. Besides her family and her day job, she runs a non-profit called Voices of Hope. The non-profit allows her to educate audiences on ways to prevent rape and sexual assault. She is a popular speaker at universities, organizations, and corporations globally.
Kristine was raped by an acquaintance during her freshman year of college. She wrote a book sharing her story along with the stories of her family and friends and how her assault affected and changed them as well. As she has navigated healing, triggers, and her book, she also started a non-profit and podcast to share others' stories and provide resources and support. In this episode, Kristine and I talk more in-depth about her story, the aftermath, her healing process, and advocacy. Tune in to hear from the voice of hope!!
