Patients with periodontal disease can preserve their teeth for many years if they want to. Dental hygienists who demonstrate tooth brushing with the patient have more successful outcomes and patients accept treatment more. Dental offices provide various amounts of products for their patients to use for their homecare. How do you know what to have your patient use?

Research shows 1 in every 4 children will experience some type of sleep problem during childhood, yet 95% of children with obstructive sleep apnea will never be diagnosed. Dental professionals play a vital role in the recognition of pediatric sleep-related breathing disorders (SRBD) and are encouraged to work in collaboration with medical/dental providers. This course will discuss the devastating effects of untreated pediatric SRBD and the importance of early identification of features commonly associated with SRBD.
