Colleen and Maddie join Caitlin on stage for the first ever Plug It Up Live! This was recorded on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Nightmare Weekend (hosted by Galaxy Con) in Richmond, VA. Instead of a movie review, we share some of our favorite monstrous femme figures, as well as our favorite final girls. Ah, the duality of woman! We had our first live Q&A as well.

Maddie and Mary join Caitlin to discuss a new addition to the Plug It Up repertoire of the monstrous feminine: bridal horror. Although weddings are beautiful and fun, they can also be catastrophic, or even deadly. 2019's Ready or Not is a favorite in general, and it perfectly captures wedding chaos and bridal horror. Plus, Samara Weaving's scream is everything. We look at themes of family, wealth, and deals with the devil, and we go on plenty of wedding tangents. *Cues Love Me Tender and lights a cigarette.*

Getting married can be such an exciting event, especially when you're marrying into a family that enjoys things like spending time together and playing games. Although it gets a little less appealing when the games turn into you being hunted by this new family and running for your life. Such is the story of Grace Le Domas  (Samara Weaving). What starts off as the perfect day twists into a wedding night she will not soon forget.

This episode wraps up a little quicker than normal because we were running low on time but it is filled with more singing than usual so we hope that makes up for a bit of that.

Hide and Seek is a fun game to play when you're a kid. It's a little weird to play on your wedding night as an adult though. This takes the newly married, Grace, by surprise as it should. Nobody expects to play a game the night of their wedding. This isn't any ordinary game of Hide and Seek, though. Grace soon realizes that when her new family finds her, they plan on sacrificing her. Ready or Not is a horror comedy that gives us a ton of laughs as well as some good kills and shows us how terrifying in-laws can really be. Nick Smith joins us to review the movie so check out the film and listen to our review.

VOID Interactive have released a statement defending a planned school shooting level in Ready Or Not, saying they want to honor “those who have been impacted by real-life tragedy”

Sharing a lengthy post on Twitter, VOID developers admitted “There is no easy way to address this issue without creating strong emotional responses from one group or another, but we will do our best.”

They then shared a quote from their original company document that read: “Void Interactive has a clear commitment to deliver high quality, impactful content that other mainstream software developers may shy away from due to cultural conventions and norms.

“At its core, the game honours the work of dedicated law enforcement officers across the world and in no way intends to glorify cowardly criminal acts.”
