The All Star Game Needs Fixing...Again

The All Star Game Needs Fixing...Again

In today's episode, Justin takes a constructive look at NBA All Star Weekend, and how the NBA can improve upon it. The weekend was highlighted by Sabrina vs Steph and the Skills Competition, but was bogged down by the Saturday Night commentary team and the lack of effort in the All Star Game on Sunday night. Is there anything that Adam Silver can do to raise the stakes of the All Star Game, or are we trapped in a void that will be filled with whatever effort the players decide to give us?

Cedric Henderson: Memphis Proud (Former Memphis & NBA Player)

Cedric Henderson: Memphis Proud (Former Memphis & NBA Player)

Man, this was a fun one. Cedric Henderson hangs out with out with us and brings some amazing energy to start the weekend with. Any hoop fan will enjoy the stories shared in this episode as it has a great blend of knowledge and humor. We knew going into this that we were going to have a great time, but we had no idea just how much fun we were in for.

Henderson was born and raised in the Memphis area and went on to stay home and play for the Memphis Tigers. After a 4 year career at Memphis, Henderson was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the 44th Overall pick in the 1997 NBA Draft. He worked his way into the rotation and earned a spot on the All-Rookie 2nd Team as a 2nd Round draft pick. He was a great defender and don’t worry, there are some amazing stories of his experience defending the opposing teams' best players. Henderson continued to play 5 seasons in the NBA before moving onto a successful career overseas.

We learned and laughed a lot during our time with Cedric. Truly one of the most pleasant, funny guys we've had the chance to hang out with. We have so much respect for his basketball journey, but also for him as a person for being so gracious with his time. This episode will not disappoint and will give you some laughs so we specifically saved this one for a Friday. Enjoy!

    Thank you Cedric Henderson!

Malice at the Palace (Part 2) - The Aftermath

Malice at the Palace (Part 2) - The Aftermath

Be sure to check out Part 1 before you continue on with this episode. Now that we have covered what happened both before and during the chaos that will forever be known as "Malice at the Palace", today we discuss the aftermath of this night and how it would change the course of the season, careers, lives, and the game of basketball all-together. The fines and punishments given to players and fans is something that we may never see again, and left a huge black eye on the NBA.

We also have special guest Brent Judy joining us today. Brent is a longtime Detroit Pistons fan who will never forget that night. He joins us for a great conversation about the aftermath and provides great insight on what it was like to be a Pistons fan during this time. We discuss the future of both teams after this night, mental health, who's to blame, and much more.

    Enjoy!
