Today we’re sharing a conversation with Mickey Taye, who is HopeChest’s Country Director of Ethiopia. Mickey is the newest Country Director to join the HopeChest team, but he’s already rocking the position with strength, insight, and passion for his work. In this personal interview, Mickey shares about his background in child advocacy, the opportunities and challenges that Ethiopia’s youth are facing, and personal stories of children’s lives being rewritten into stories of hope. I hope you enjoy and are encouraged by this conversation with my friend, Mickey.

How to Relate Wisely to Others

How to Relate Wisely to Others
Have you ever known someone who has a hard time relating to others? For them, the glass is always half empty and people are inherently problematic. They hold grudges and might be overly critical and antagonistic--generally stirring up trouble, and as a result, people don't care to be around them. James 3:13-18 talks about this and concludes that this behavior is not heaven-sent. He says that peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness. Are you a peacemaker or the one to antagonize others and stir things up? You know--criticizing, condemning or pointing out others mistakes. Is that you?

As You Love Yourself (4 of 6)

As You Love Yourself (4 of 6)
God's calling the church, every person, to serve. Love always serves others; but if you're unhappy about who you are, you'll use the serving as a way of fulfilling an unmet need inside. God wants us to place value on ourselves. I want to focus on 'as you love yourself.' What do you believe about yourself? When you look in the mirror and you look there, you look at that person there, what do you think?
