Sander anmelder Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Sander anmelder Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Episode 260: 5 Years in the can!

Episode 260: 5 Years in the can!
You Heard that Right! Today marks the 5th anniversary of the start of this podcast, and how are we celebrating? By treating it like any other week of course! lol. Anyway, this weeks has some fun topics. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is out and we have a early feelings review, we are a week out from the CMA's decision on the Xbox ABK deal, The Writers Strike is official, and we finally got our first look at Dune Part II. Come take a listen.

Episode 249: The Big Game Spot

Episode 249: The Big Game Spot
Well the Super Bowl dropped some serious Batman on us, and some guardians too. But mostly here for the I'm Batman in the Flash. Respawn Entertainment thinks they can keep Apex going for 20 years, and EA signs a deal with the English Premier League. Mattel is rebooting Barney for some reason, and Arrested Development is leaving Netflix in a surprise move. Meanwhile Kevin Feige gets real about the MCU and and James Gunn gets praise from Zack Snyder.

EA Enters the Acquisition Race, Raven Workers Unionize, and Pooh Goes Dark

EA Enters the Acquisition Race, Raven Workers Unionize, and Pooh Goes Dark

Two weeks can feel like an eternity in the entertainment industry, and this episode is listenable proof. Zak and Aaron are at it again, discussing monumental moves like EA's ravenous - and somewhat bewildering - quest for a merger/acquisition, the major victory won by QA workers at Raven Software, and Sony's inconsistent stance on reproductive rights. Naturally, they also spend a bit of time discussing the upcoming Winnie the Pooh horror film, which is an actual thing that exists in the same world you call home.

    Please, enjoy.

    Episode 155: Mortal Podkast

    Episode 155: Mortal Podkast
If it wasn't blatantly obvious, todays top story is the review of Mortal Kombat! Also PS5 is outdoing projections. Xbox has a solid Q3, Titanfall 2 sees a spike, and Little Big Planet is up in the air. The Falcon and The Winter Solider nails its landing, and we haven't seen the last of Justice League Unlimited. The Oscar goes to a MCU director, Captain America 4 is in the works. Adam Wingard might not be done with the Monsterverse, and the streaming wars aren't slowing down.

IP Usage in Games, Star Wars, Warhammer, and the Horror of Texas Snowstorms

IP Usage in Games, Star Wars, Warhammer, and the Horror of Texas Snowstorms

As the well-trodden platitude says, "life happens." Sometimes that means the majority of your state goes dark because of a winter storm. Sometimes it means you need to record a podcast in the same room as a cat who just loves to scream at the top of her lungs. Well, c'est la vie.

In this episode, we talk about how certain brands choose to license their IPs, and whether a more restrictive approach (like Disney's) or a looser one (like Games Workshop's) is better for the consumer, the company in charge of said IP, and the IP's overall value and reputation.

But don't worry, Aaron still manages to get some basic facts wrong while trying to speak English.
