Get ready for some Biblical shade grenades, honey! In this episode, the ladies of BBB imagine what it would be like if the wives of the Old Testament got together for a "friendly" dinner. And we all know a real housewives moment would not be complete without shady insults, drinks being thrown, and lots of crying!

    The League of Extraordinary Prophets

    The League of Extraordinary Prophets

This episode wraps up the Old Testament and the ladies talk about the last prophets mentioned in the Good Book. God has been tryin' to tell the people of Isreal something for a minute now, and these folks seem to just not get it! The prophets have come together - well, maybe! - to discuss how they gonna get the word out. The Isreal Daily Times might have some print space for it!

Daniel, Part 2: Lions and Fire and Kings, Oh My!

The Ladies of Bible By Blacks have rolled into part two of Daniel which finally brings us to the story of Daniel in the Lions Den. Nebuchadnezzar proves once again he's an unstable king and his successors turn out to be no better. Just MADNESS! From decrees against praying to throwing people in the cave with Simba...thankfully these lions proved to be friendly!

Welcome to Successful Witches … a podcast for Indie Romance lovers and writers where we’re obsessed with Spice + Smut + Happily Ever Afters

This is our regular 'After Dark' segment where we’ll be coming in with our spiiicccyyyyy book recommendations, with us essentially raving about a book we’ve both loved!

Please welcome in to the podcast my dear friend and fellow smutty-book-witch, Nicole Middleton ... We decided our chaotic WhatsApp messages to each other screaming about the books we were both reading should really be recorded… and now we’re here gracing you all with our obsession for indie romance… you’re welcome 😉

***OUR RECOMMENDED SPICY READ THIS WEEK***

THE NEVER KING by Nikki St Crowe

This is book number one in the Vicious Lost Boys series - there are 4 books in the (now complete!) series and with each being very short reads, highly recommend treating them as if you're reading one book and just roll on from one to the next... trust me you won't be able to put these down!

    What to expect:

    - A dark romance Peter Pan retelling (all characters are aged up and this is DARK)
    - Why Choose (aka ... she gets all 4 🍆)
    - "Don't touch the Darling" - Villainous/Morally Grey MMCs galore
    - Fae Princes and Lost Boys
    - Dub Con
    - Hotttt kitchen times
    - Fighting with pirates
    - Searching for Pan's shadow

    BOOK BLURB 👇🏼

The stories were all wrong — Hook was never the villain. For two centuries, all of the Darling women have disappeared on their 18th birthday. Sometimes they’re gone for only a day, some a week or a month. But they always return broken. Now, on the afternoon of my 18th birthday, my mother is running around the house making sure all the windows are barred and the doors locked. But it’s pointless. Because when night falls, he comes for me. And this time, the Never King and the Lost Boys aren’t willing to let me go.

NOTE: The Never King is a reimagining of Peter and Wendy. Characters have been aged up for this darker, grittier version. If you like your enemies to lovers romance with hot, ruthless, morally gray love interests, you’ll enjoy The Never King and the Lost Boys. You can expect hate kissing, fighting, bickering, and ‘touch her and I’ll unalive you’ vibes. Book one ends on a cliff.

***TWs: As with any book we recommend on the Podcast, please make sure to check any content warnings beforehand - books we recommend on the show are Indies Romances with lots of explicit s-x, featuring MMC unalivers you’ll grow to love, and in many cases there will be dark elements explored such as dubious consent, power dynamics, k!nk exploration and more.

FYI, witches - these are not reviews or book ratings! So don’t expect us to give you a ‘scale’ or anything like that. Everyone’s book rating system is subjective and we’re just here to share our love of Indie Romance. Any book we recommend on Successful Witches is one we have both read, loved, and want to rave about endlessly. Contents will most definitely be HOT. They are all extra spiccyyyyyyyyy with wide open door explicit 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶

    A Game of Fate

    A Game of Fate

We discuss A Game of Fate by Scarlett St. Clair, which is a modern romance retelling of the Greek myth of Hades and Persephone.  We love the twist on the story and the redemption of Hades.  Persephone is kind of annoying.  In this version, the Underworld sounds like a place we would actually want to visit, and the inclusion of the Fates and themes of balance add unexpected depth.
