Is it just us, or do you feel like class was still in session for the summer? Between a witchy campus, a group of rarely sober students on a Vermont college, and now the Wheel has brought us all the way to an ancient school in the middle of the Industrial Revolution, we've been educated, to say the least.

The Wheel of Doom has granted us mercy and even more so, a brilliant response to last month's pick. R.F. Kuang's Babel: Or the Necessity of Violence: An Arcane History of the Oxford Translators' Revolution dropped us in the middle of one of the most tumultuous era in British history-- in addition to a number of other countries who were unfortunately dragged into the mix.

So please, bring all the aforementioned supplies from the last two unintentionally school themed episodes in addition to a box of tissues, because you're going to need it.

Laura actually watched some movies/tv shows that Hannah recommended to her and LOVED them. Hannah reveals her immense knowledge of Soap Operas, which amazes Laura. This week Hannah and Laura are covering part 1 of The Burning God by R.F. Kuang! It's actually happening. But first! Laura loves the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, but Hannah and Laura question the casting of the movies. She also did a buddy read-a-thon of a graphic novel favorite. Hannah watched a really cute movie starring Nick Offerman, and read a short book that is perfect for Halloween and gave her some scary dreams. She was also slightly let down by the ending of a science-fiction book that she really enjoyed.

It may not be a reading podcast this week, or at least not for Laura!! We do a deep dive into canning, goats, and The Newest Olympian podcast nonstop. Hannah went on vacation recently, saw the former VP, and got a lot of reading done. Laura wonders why there couldn't have been an Ant-Woman, and has been giddy over some recent romance reads. Laura has once again watched the "Jackie Daytona" episode of What We Do in the Shadows. It's an amazing piece of television that she thinks everyone should see. Multiple times. She also read the second book of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series and can't wait to watch Jason Mantzoukas in the upcoming Disney+ show. Hannah has been watching a fascinating show on Apple TV, but is confused why they didn't just let Adam Scott go by his real name in the show. Hannah also read some books that Laura recommended to her which made Laura nervous.  Then we get into a great discussion of the characters of The Poppy War and some overall thoughts on the book and series so far.

It's been SO LONG since Laura and Hannah last spoke. In reality, it's been about nine days and they did talk, just not as much. Laura has been doing deep dives to learn more about Greek Mythology and is in love with her latest romance read. Hannah is confused about a Laura's pick for her involving a mysterious book cemetery.  Hannah also has really been enjoying a new TV show and hopes that people will create more content like this.
