Episode 709: Pop Culture: Last Night in Soho

This week we are sharing a special pop culture episode with you! We are looking at the movie Last Night in Soho. You can find our full show notes here, with links to our beverages and the books we share today.

The star of this movie is the wonderful Anya Taylor-Joy. You may remember her from the Netflix series The Queen’s Gambit. Also featured in this movie is the incomparable Diana Rigg, in her final movie appearance. She passed away in 2020, but you may remember her from her badass role in the 1960s tv series The Avengers, or from her badass role in the Game of Thrones series!

We have more to discuss, so let’s settle in and get to the fun part: the book discussion! This week we are taking a quick look at some books about time travel, to celebrate this new movie. Kick back with a beverage you will enjoy, and let’s share some books you might enjoy. We always enjoy hosting these book groups with you, and want you to have everything you need for the best experience!

    003: The Avengers

    003: The Avengers
This week IMMP takes on The Avengers. The surreal, Swinging Sixties secret agent series from the U.K., not the endless Marvel superhero franchise. Sometimes scary, sometimes silly, always suave and stylish, The Avengers brought sci fi and secret agent adventure to Sixties TV. How well does it hold up 50 years later? WARNING 1: Podcast contains spoilers for several episodes of The Avengers. WARNING 2: Podcast contains intermittent terrible British accents.

    Financial Diversification

    Financial Diversification

Diversifying not only your investments is important, but also diversifying your spending habits or your saving habits is very important, especially when times are good, which right now, quite frankly, times are very good in the United States.

We see that throughout history, practicing diversification is something that people have realized is very important to do. Unfortunately, as we see throughout history, most people do not do it properly, and many people don’t do it at all. Even Shakespeare, in “The Merchant of Venice,” talks about how you should never trust just one investment, no matter how good you think it is.
