Brigitte Morten: Former Senior Ministerial Advisor to National on the Government's first meetings

It's thought the new Government will start with some of the 'easy wins' in its 100-day plan.

Ministers from our first three-party coalition of National, ACT, and New Zealand First meet for their first Cabinet meeting today.

Prime Minister Chris Luxon says today's meeting will lay out expectations, and at tomorrow's meeting they'll discuss items like agreeing to a plan.

Former Senior Ministerial Adviser to National, Brigitte Morten, told Tim Dower that there's only about nine sitting days left for the year, so they'll move quickly.

She believes they'll be looking to introduce legislation to get rid of Fair Pay Agreements, and repeal Three Waters and RMA.

Ryan Greenaway-McGrevy: How Auckland's leading the world in housing upzoning

Ryan Greenaway-McGrevy: How Auckland's leading the world in housing upzoning

Six years after Auckland Council passed the Unitary Plan, with scope for increased housing densification to boost supply and improve affordability, what impact has it had?

Quite a bit according to University of Auckland Associate Professor of Economics Ryan Greenaway-McGrevy.

Speaking in the latest episode of interest.co.nz's Of Interest Podcast, Greenaway-McGrevy talks about a recent paper he co-authored on the impact of upzoning on Auckland housing construction, plus a range of other housing related issues.

Greenaway-McGrevy explains why he believes Auckland leads the world when it comes to upzoning, the impact of the Unitary Plan on residential building consents, and where Auckland's at with housing affordability and rents.

He also discusses land prices versus land costs and explains why he supports the concept of a land tax.

We also talk about the Medium Density Residential Standards following 2021's Resource Management (Enabling Housing Supply and Other Matters) Amendment Act, and what these could mean for cities and towns around New Zealand, including Christchurch where the Christchurch City Council voted against the new housing intensification standards.

Managing The Reverse Logistics Conundrum - A Chat With ReverseLogix Des Frawley

Managing The Reverse Logistics Conundrum - A Chat With ReverseLogix Des Frawley

With the advent of direct to consumer sales, not only is the forward supply chain coming under pressure, but more and more purchases are being returned, impacting the reverse supply chain.

To help large organisations manage this ReverseLogix have developed their returns management system (RMS), and to find out more about this, I invited Des Frawley to come on the podcast to tell us all about it.

We had a fascinating conversation covering why there is increasingly a need for a reverse logistics platform, the differences between forward, and reverse supply chains, and what the future of the reverse supply chain looks like

I learned loads, I hope you do too...
