Artificial Intelligence in Seeing AI & Be My Eyes

In this episode of Shaun of the Shed I'll be showing you how we can use artificial intelligence to get amazingly detailed descriptions of any photos we take. Want to know exactly the colour and design of that T-shirt you're about to put on? Not a problem. Want to identify that mysterious can in your cupboard and get cooking instructions? Not a problem. You can even take multiple pictures of a menu and then ask questions such as “What are the vegetarian dishes?” etc.

Learn all about how the new artificial intelligence features in the apps “Be My Eyes” and “Seeing AI” are both very easy to use and a must have if you are blind or partially-sighted.

    SUMMARY

In this episode of Shaun of the Shed, Shaun Preece discusses the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in apps for people who are blind or partially-sighted. He focuses on two popular apps, Be My Eyes and Microsoft's Seeing AI, which have recently added AI capabilities. Shaun explains that AI allows for more conversational and human-like interactions with technology. He demonstrates how Be My Eyes uses AI to provide detailed descriptions of images, including objects, people, and the atmosphere of the photo. UK Employment Support For Disabled People In Crisis & Kelly & Ramya Drop By
It's another big show as Steven finds out about the latest crisis to hit disabled people in the UK. The government service called Access To Work, which enables people who are disabled to access a range of support services for in-work, is failing to meet its obligations and is causing some employers to let disabled people go due to their inability to support them. Roisin Jackman from RNIB in the UK joins Steven to explain. Also, there's more on the AI stories of the week, in particular the news of a mistake that cost Google $100 billion all because of a factual error in a demonstration. And Kelly and Ramya from the popular AMI-tv and AMI-audio show of the same name drop by to talk about transitioning from radio to TV earlier this year. As always, we love to hear your feedback. And the host of the awards himself, blind gamer Steve Saylor, also joins Steven to talk about his role and thoughts on the future of accessible gaming. Today on the show, Steven catches up with an old friend to discuss his decade with the iPhone. Ken Reid used to be part of the RNIB, where Steven previously worked, and back in 2013 Ken shared his concerns about the new device and whether or not it would be something actually useful to him. So what happened 10 years on? Today we find out. Also, Steven reads through more of your feedback - this time without his trusty sidekick. Shaun decided to go for a walk this morning and as a result, appears to have broken his leg. You can expect huge sympathy and concern from Steven. Oh, sorry we meant hilarity and laughter! As always, your feedback is welcome. You can email us at feedback@doubletaponair.com or call 1-877-803-4567 and leave us a voicemail. You can also find us across social media @DoubleTapOnAir.
