The Mandalorian | Season 2 Preview

The Mandalorian | Season 2 Preview

Looking for "The Mandalorian" podcast coverage? This is the way!

Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) and Kevin Mahadeo (@kevmahadeo) talk about "The Mandalorian," the Disney+ TV series about the bounty hunter known as Mando and his young friend technically known as The Child but more popularly known as Baby Yoda. LaTonya Starks (@lkstarks) will also be along for the ride as soon as she escapes from the Galactic Empire's captivity.

In the first podcast, Josh and Kevin recount their Star Wars experiences: how they both first encountered the franchise, their evolving feelings about the galaxy far far away, and why they are so enamored with "The Mandalorian." They will be back on November 2 with their recap of the first season two episode, with weekly recaps following every Monday.

Join the Post Show Recaps Patreon at the Discord level to watch the final two episodes of "Mandalorian" season one with Wigler on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 8PM.

Star Trek: Discovery | Season 3, Episode 2 Recap: "Far From Home"

Star Trek: Discovery | Season 3, Episode 2 Recap: "Far From Home"

Jessica Liese (@HaymakerHattie) and Mike Bloom (@AMikeBloomType) pull up a chair at the nearest desolate bar to talk about this week's episode of Star Trek: Discovery.

While last week's premiere focused on what happened to Michael Burnham when she fell out of the wormhole, now it's the U.S.S. Discovery's turn. Stranded on a planet filled with parasitic ice and malicious couriers, the crew gets an abrupt taste of life in the 32nd century.

Jess and Mike will be bringing recaps of Star Trek: Discovery every weekend throughout season three. For feedback on the episodes, reach out to them or @PostShowRecaps on Twitter or email feedback@postshowrecaps.com.

    About Star Trek: Discovery...

After following Commander Burnham into the wormhole in the second season finale, season three of Star Trek: Discovery finds the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery landing in an unknown future far from the home they once knew. Now living in a time filled with uncertainty, the U.S.S. Discovery crew, along with the help of some new friends, must work together to restore hope to the Federation.

Star Trek: Discovery stars Sonequa Martin-Green as Michael Burnham, as well as Doug Jones, Anthony Rapp, Mary Wiseman, Wilson Cruz, David Ajala, Blu Del Barrio, Ian Alexander, Tig Notaro, and Michelle Yeoh. It airs weekly on CBS All Access in the United States and is distributed concurrently internationally by CBS Studios International on Amazon Prime Video in more than 200 countries and territories and in Canada on Bell Media’s CTV Sci-Fi Channel and OTT service Crave.

Star Trek: Discovery | Season 3 Premiere Recap: "That Hope is You, Part 1"

Jessica Liese (@HaymakerHattie) and Mike Bloom (@AMikeBloomType) are glowing like a trance worm to talk about the season 3 premiere of Star Trek: Discovery.

The opening episode saw Michael Burnham on a literal collision course with the year 3188. With the mysterious Book as her guide, she learns all about her post-Federation world and works to build it anew. Our own duo discuss everything they loved about the premiere, and speculate as to how the faithful crew will help bring hope to the universe.

Origin Story | Episode 1: Rob Cesternino

Origin Story | Episode 1: Rob Cesternino

Welcome to Origin Story, a new interview series on Post Show Recaps, made possible by the patrons of Post Show Recaps. In each episode, host Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) speaks with a different guest and digs into their pop culture origins: the movies and shows and journey through life that brought them to where they are now. Interview subjects will run a wide gamut, ranging from Wigler's fellow podcasters and reporters in the entertainment space, to some of his super famous best friends such as Will Smith*, and all in between.

Up first: Rob Cesternino, host of Rob Has a Podcast, two-time Survivor player, and the co-founder of Post Show Recaps. Rob walks Josh through his origin story as a kid on Long Island recording poorly reviewed cassette tape comedy, to becoming a reality TV star who records considerably better-reviewed podcasts.

Contact Josh at josh@postshowrecaps.com with suggestions for future Origin Story guests. New episodes drop every other Wednesday.

(Spoiler alert: Will Smith has not been booked for this podcast — at least, not yet.)

Star Trek | Lower Decks Season 1 Recap & Discovery Season 3 Preview

Jessica Liese (@HaymakerHattie) and Mike Bloom (@AMikeBloomType) are here to talk Caitian doctors, future cats, and much more as they break down Star Trek: Lower Decks and preview Star Trek: Discovery season 3.

The two start the podcast by giving their very different thoughts on the past ten weeks of Lower Decks, an animated comedic take on the Star Trek universe from the perspective of those at the bottom of the Starfleet ladder. Then, they preview the upcoming season of Star Trek: Discovery, as well as the other news that has come out since they last talked Trek.

Jess and Mike will be bringing recaps of Star Trek: Discovery every weekend throughout season three. For feedback on the episodes, reach out to them or @PostShowRecaps on Twitter or email feedback@postshowrecaps.com.

Lost: Down the Hatch | Season 3 Episode 2: "The Glass Ballerina"
Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) and Mike Bloom (@AMikeBloomType) are going to need you to bring them that boat. Josh and Mike knock over "The Glass Ballerina," the second episode of season three — an episode that might be altogether forgotten if not for a few truly tremendous scenes. Do those scenes help elevate an episode that's otherwise spinning its wheels (or spinning its sails; clearly no one here knows how boats work)? Find out in the podcast! Josh and Mike Bloom will return for "Further Instructions" on August 8, 2020. About Down the Hatch ... LOST: Down the Hatch is a full-tilt spoiler-filled rewatch of LOST. Every week, Josh and Mike break down an episode of LOST with the benefit of knowing the series' full trajectory, using the following structure as a guide: • We Go "Fourth" - Josh and Mike begin each podcast with a deep-dive into the story both in front of and behind the camera, and they do so with the assistance of eight sound clips from each episode. • The Others - Josh and Mike answer questions sent their way by listeners through the official e-mail address: downthehatch@postshowrecaps.com • 23 Points - Each week, Josh and Mike hand out points for the best and worst characters of the episode in question, in a foolhardy attempt to determine the most and least valuable players in the LOST pantheon. • 4.2 Stars - Josh and Mike rank every episode of LOST, by rating them all on a scale from 0 - 4.2. Josh and Mike offer their individual scores, listeners' scores will be averaged as a third data point, then the three points combine as the podcast's official score on each episode. Schedule for the next few weeks: • Further Instructions feedback due 8/6, podcast drops 8/8 • Every Man For Himself feedback due 8/9, podcast drops 8/12 • One Year Anniversary feedback due 8/10, podcast drops 8/15 Additional reading/listening/viewing from the podcast: • Josh’s LOST Episode Rankings on The Hollywood Reporter • Javier Grillo Marxuach's Lost Will and Testament • Jim Fels music analysis The 2/3 MVP/LVP Points For Season 3: Juliet: 4 Sawyer: 4 Ben: 1 Christian: 1 Karl: -1 Sarah: -1 Picket: -1 Sayid: -1 Jack: -3 Paik: -3 The 4.2 Star Episode Rankings For Season 3: A Tale of Two Cities - 3.82 The Glass Ballerina - 3.05 Mike Bloom's 4.2 Star Episode Ranking Rubrik 4.2 - Perfect episode of LOST. Doctor Strange | A Marvel Cinematic Universe Rewatch
The Marvel Cinematic Universe rewatch is here! Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) and Kevin Mahadeo (@KevMahadeo) have launched "Everything is Super," a superhero and comic book focused podcast on Post Show Recaps, beginning with a full deep dive into the MCU. For the next several weeks, Josh and Kevin will focus on a different film from the MCU, in release order. Up next: "Doctor Strange," a movie Josh and Kevin should by all rights thoroughly love, but instead are left with a tragic case of "meh." Why doesn't "Doctor Strange" work the way it should? Why oh why is it not a direct adaptation of "Doctor Strange: The Oath," a comic book you all should make it a point to read right now? Josh and Kevin get into all that and more. Coming next: "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. II." Send feedback no later than July 29 by e-mailing super@postshowrecaps.com. The Infinity Ranking Saga: Each week, Josh and Kevin and the Everything is Super listenership will team together to rank three different components of the MCU: the post-credits scenes, the villains, and the movies themselves. Also, doesn't it feel less like a "Captain America" movie and more like an "Avengers" movie? That's one of several topics as Josh and Kevin relive one of the biggest superhero movies to date. Coming next: "Marvel Civil War | A Survivor Simulation." Send feedback for Phase 2 and looks ahead to Phase 3 by no later than July 18 by e-mailing super@postshowrecaps.com. The Infinity Ranking Saga: Each week, Josh and Kevin and the Everything is Super listenership will team together to rank three different components of the MCU: the post-credits scenes, the villains, and the movies themselves. Listeners are encouraged to send their scores from a scale of 1 - 6 stones to super@postshowrecaps.com. Lost: Down the Hatch | Season 2 Feedback Show
Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) and Mike Bloom (@AMikeBloomType) are done with season two of "Lost." Okay, not quite. In fact, Josh and Mike are taking one last chance to look back at the sophomore season of "Lost," guided by feedback from the Hatchlings, the results of the MVP/LVP points and the 4.2 Stars episode rankings, and more as they look ahead toward season three. Mike will be missing from the podcast next week; a season two book club podcast with Josh, Jonathan Krause and a special guest will drop instead of the season three premiere recap. Expect the season three premiere recap on July 24, 2020. The Marvel Cinematic Universe rewatch is here! Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) and Kevin Mahadeo (@KevMahadeo) have launched "Everything is Super," a new superhero and comic book focused podcast on Post Show Recaps, beginning with a full deep dive into the MCU. For the next several weeks, Josh and Kevin will focus on a different film from the MCU, in release order. Up next: "Ant-Man," the final movie in the MCU's second phase, and a production as beleaguered as any in the series. Do the woes behind the scenes greatly impact the viewing experience? Josh and Kevin have very different takes on that matter, and a whole lot more. Coming next: "Captain America: Civil War." Hamilton | A Stage and Screen Recap

Hamilton | A Stage and Screen Recap
Wait for it no longer! Post Show Recaps is young, scrappy, and hungry to talk about the musical phenomenon Hamilton. Mike Bloom (@AMikeBloomType), Shannon Guss (@ShannonGaitz), Aman Adwin (@AmanAdwin), and Aaron Robertson (@AARobertson94) raise a glass to the hip-hop theatre sensation from the mind of composer, lyricist, and star Lin-Manuel Miranda. After taking the awards circuit by storm and turning the world upside down back in 2015 and 2016, a filmed production of the show starring the original Broadway cast dropped on Disney+ on July 3. In their discussion, the panel talks non-stop about their favorite numbers and characters, the musical's commentary on race and gender, and what the story of Hamilton will ultimately be in a time where history's eyes are on us.

Lost: Down the Hatch | Season 2 Finale, "Live Together Die Alone"
Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) and Mike Bloom (@AMikeBloomType) are here to blow the dam, chickens be damned. In their recap of the season two finale of "Lost," called "Live Together, Die Alone," Josh and Mike watch as the sky turns purple and nobody says a single thing about it. Seriously, no one? It's one of a few petty grievances between Josh, Mike and the otherwise beloved season two finale, as they dig into behind-the-scenes details that led to the finale's creation, the resolution of Michael's search for Walt, and much more.
