Episode #159 Learn This Classic Billy Gibbons Riff
In this episode we're looking at a classic ZZ Top riff from the song Tube Snake Boogie. This is one of my favorite Billy Gibbons parts and there's loads to dive into with it.

Welcome to Roadcase, a podcast exploring the live music experience!! Hop on the bus for this fun interview with Brandon “Taz” Niederauer. Taz, who recently graduated from high school, has been playing guitar since he was eight years old, initially inspired by the movie “School of Rock.” Four years later, Taz was cast in a starring role in the Broadway production of the movie, produced by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Rick Beato
With over 2 million YouTube subscribers, Rick Beato is a brilliant musician, producer, and educator who is consistently creating the finest musical content there is to be found on the interwebs. Greg and Rick rap about Rick's own professional musical journey before YouTube, his time as a bassist and producer, the importance of improvisation, and how to find inspiration in general, all amongst other glorious and insightful tangents. Can you dig that?
BOB HAWKINS - Decades of Gigging and Teaching as a Professional Guitarist.
People have to make decisions and commit. To be a successful professional within any career or endeavor requires incentive. I've talked with hundreds of guitarists but out of the many comes a couple that stay the course. Bob Hawkins is in the class of the few. To say you've done thousands of gigs and given thousands of lessons comes from the most staunch character type. There's just so much to consider. This interview with Bob Hawkins is revealing in that it sums up the drive needed to persevere with such a workload. This work is for the love of music but only for the brave.

Eddie Van Halen Tribute (Sort of)
Dave and Blair sit down to eulogize some old dude name Edward Van Halen. That is sort of what it felt like when reading how much older Eddie was than the boys, but hey, 1955. Damn.
In truth Eddie played a unique roll in Dave and Blair's life. He hit when they were 12 and 12. Imagine that. What did you feel like at that age? Someone who looked as crazy as Eddie and acted as weird as he did being the cool kid? That was a fun break from the cool kid always getting the girl.
Oh, and Eddie could shred too. You listen to guitar now and it has not progressed from a rock perspective. That is a bummer because a lot of art has gotten better and better. Rock from the 1950's? Please. We like it because it was unique. Pat it on its head and send it along.
