S1E4 -- Kona Calling with Jane Bockus and Maxim Knyazev
In this episode, I place a Zoom call to the birthplace of Ultraman, Kailua Kona for a conversation with UltraMama, Jane Bockus. Jane was the Race Director of the Ultraman World Championships from 1992 - 2017 and remains the brand owner of Ultraman. She shares stories of the early days and her volunteer work with the Ironman World Championships.
In the Ultraman Canada 2021 athlete profile section, I speak with a Russian athlete--Maxim Knyazev. He is the current course record holder of Siberman 515. Maxim shares some training ideas and his goals as an endurance athlete which includes his own personal call to reach Kona for the Ultraman World Championships.
Resident raconteur, Steve King, drops by to share the Kona stories of the two original winners of Ultraman in 1983.
