We are always excited to have our friend Craig Miller on the show. His years at Lucasfilm are well documented in his book, Star Wars Memories: My Time in the (Death Star) Trenches. Some of these stories include how he instigated Star Wars on Sesame Street as part of a mandate to keep Star Wars in the general zeitgeist between 1977 and 1980 (when Empire Strikes Back was released).

We have a special treat for you. On September 3 we braved crowds, traffic and Hollywood to attend the ‘Maestro at the Movies’ - John Williams at the Hollywood Bowl.' 

 

It was the first of a 3 night engagement, and what an amazing event. Composer David Newman conducted the first half, and after the intermission John Williams took the stage. You’ll hear some clips from the concert, plus a recording of us and our Skywalkers reviewing the highpoints about the night as we waited for the Bowl to clear out.

As the Millennium Falcon and her crew depart Tatooine they recognize a House of Tagge Mining Explorer readying to jump to hyperspace. The Rebels follow them to the planet Junction where the Mining Explorer meets with a Star Destroyer where they will transfer their Omega Frost technology. 

 

Luke Skywalker infiltrates the transfer crew and is captured. Han Solo then races the Falcon to the Rebel base at Yavin 4 to let them know that the Empire plans to use their Omega Frost weapon against the critical planet of Junction and, that Luke has been captured. Back on the Mining Explorer, Luke engages in a lightsaber duel with Baron Tagge who soon realizes that the youth has more ability than he expected.
