CALL TO ACTION: False Albacore In North Carolina

Misguided Fishing Podcast 3.12: Capt Charles Perry Walks the Walk

Misguided Saltwater Fishing Podcast brings Capt Charles Perry to the studio for ep 3.12. A podcast by nature is about talking the talk. CP walks the walk and has the book and DVD to prove it. To say we felt like we were in over our heads talking to him is an understatement. I don't believe there is anything we have done that he hasn't done more times and definitely better. By far one of our favorite episodes we have produced.

Misguided Fishing Podcast episode 3.11: Capt Dave Lusk of Saltminded Charters. You Can Go Home Again

Misguided Fishing Podcast episode 3.11: Capt Dave Lusk of Saltminded Charters. You Can Go Home Again

Misguided Fishing episode 3.11 features Capt Dave Lusk of Salt Minded Fishing. Yes, the prodigal son has returned. Dave and I, Donnie D, had an idea a few years ago. Neither one of us had a clue had to film or produce a podcast but we went with it anyway. It has been nothing but fun. Dave got really busy last year and decided to step back and let somebody else jump to the other seat so I was so stoked when he escaped from the Russian Gulag and made an appearance with us even before going home and getting his toes amputated due to frostbite. (if you fish with him please don't stare at his feet) Enjoy this one. Out of the three of us in this episode he is the least dumbest ass there is.

Misguided Saltwater Fishing Podcast EP 3.10: Savage Inlet Oysters

Misguided Saltwater Fishing Podcast EP 3.10: Savage Inlet Oysters

Misguided Saltwater Fishing Podcast EP 3.10 welcomes Capt Bobby Smith, proprietor of Savage Inlet Oysters. Bobby has been fishing out of the Oregon Inlet Fishing Center since 1985. To say he is a waterman is an understatement. Bobby not only owns and operates the Fishing Fool, an inshore charter boat, but also has an oyster growing operation as well.  There are not many people that can say they spend more time on the water than Bobby Smith. Savage Inlet Oysters have quickly become the standard for oysters on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

    WoundedWaters
What an amazing nonprofit organization Wounded Waters is! I can't say enough good things about them. They take wounded veterans, retired veterans, and really anyone in need out on the water, on all expenses paid fishing trips, and on diving adventures. It's quite an amazing group of people. You can find them at woundedwaters.org or at woundedwaters@gmail.com

Jimmy Fee - The Toughest Job Everybody Wants

As Editor of On The Water Jimmy has to fish a lot and fortunately for On The Water Magazine Jimmy is up to the challenge. All joking aside it's no small task to have the versatility and the expertise to teach others a stunning array of fishing techniques from center pinning for steelhead to deep dropping swordfish. Fact is Jimmy Fee is a talented and curious angler who might be the best guy for the job he has. Case in point a few years ago I heard of a whisper of a local squeteague bite and I was immediately excited up to catch one. So I go to Google to learn a bit about jigging and the first result was an article written by Jimmy only a few days prior. Further proof that he has his finger on the pulse of New England recreational fishing. Join us for a great chat with a great guy.

MISGUIDED FISHING EP. 2.14: Capt Ben Morris talks art, fishing, and the art of fishing.

Misguided Fishing's guest this week is Capt Ben Morris of Salty Water OBX.  Ben is middle aged like myself but fishes with the energy of a someone half our age.  Sleep is his foe apparently.  Ben is also and art school grad which I find as interesting if not more.  His artwork is displayed throughout Dare County and even other states.  I've embedded samples of his work throughout the video here.   Ben is not only one of the top tier guides around but also one of the most creative guys I know.

MISGUIDED FISHING EP 2.11: SOMETHING OF ACTUAL SUBSTANCE IS DISCUSSED!

MISGUIDED FISHING EP 2.11: SOMETHING OF ACTUAL SUBSTANCE IS DISCUSSED!

Jack and Donnie talk about casting to non eating fish, doing a commercial, and Jack starts to go in depth about blue fishing and techniques.  Its actually pretty informative. The give away question this week is "what is capt jack's favorite blue fin bait to troll." Winner will get a trout rod from TW's bait and tackle.  Also, I hit the camera when walking by it which is the reason I'm mostly out of frame.

MISGUIDED FISHING EP 2.6: NC Travis talks about beach fishing and other cool stuff.

MISGUIDED FISHING EP 2.6: NC Travis talks about beach fishing and other cool stuff.

Misguided Fishing's guest this episode is Travis Kemp, aka NC Travis, aka TW's Bait and Tackle's Business Development Manager.  We start off reveling in Jack's ignorance regarding "the bass" and go from there to learn about beach fishing for big Red Drum, rod making, upcoming all inclusive fishing tournaments and the sub tourneys that are built inside them.

Travis guides, mates, and works full time at TW's.  He is a knowledgeable man with boundless energy who wants to grow and market the Outer Banks' iconic tackle establishment.  He also had a ton to say and we only touched on some of it.  Probably gonna be a return guest.
