We're talking with a Lake Erie charter captain and tournament angler this time on the Off Shore Tackle podcast.

Ohio angler Bobby Greene of Meals on Reelz charters recently won the Lake Erie Walleye Trail tourney out of Sandusky.

He talks about his strategy for taking first place in that event and why he had to run forty miles to find his fish.

He also describes the difference between tournament angling and charter fishing, use of electronics to find fish and the importance of current and boat control.

Bobby also tells us why he believes there's "nothing normal in fishing".

Episode 5: Cedar Point (The Coaster Enthusiast's Holy Grail)

My second stop on my week-long road trip was Cedar Point, America's Roller Coast, and what I call the coaster enthusiast's Holy Grail.  I visited this park way back in 1999, but so many roller coaster superlatives had been added since then, it would almost be like a brand-new park for me.  Join me for my first-time reactions to five new-to-me roller coasters at one of the best amusement parks in the world.

    The Confident Christian

    The Confident Christian

Philippians 4:13 is a verse that encourages and emboldens many believers. Sometimes it feels like we are powerless or incapable of achieving our goals. Sometimes we feel weak and incapable of achieving our goals. Other times, it seems like everything is against us. This is when this passage lifts our hearts.

However, some Christians will take this verse out of context and claim its power to do things outside of the will of God. We should never manipulate God's Word to make it say what was never intended to mean.

    Philippians 4
10  But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity.
11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
12  I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

    S1 Episode 3: Resilient - Part 1
The Penn State child sex abuse scandal in 2011 rocked the nation. However, prior to and since the Sandusky case, there have been a number of child sex abuse and trafficking cases. How is it that some of the most powerful people, that have gained the trust of their communities, are able to commit such acts against children? One survivor tells his horrific account of the abuse and trauma he experienced as a child.

    Tommy Boy (1995)

    Tommy Boy (1995)

Listener Brad Nicholas noticed "Shat The Movies" had never done a Chris Farley movie, and he decided to do something about it. To honor a comic genius who died too young, Brad chose "Tommy Boy" as his commissioned film.

It's a movie critics have called "dumber than 'Dumb and Dumber'" and "written by three writers locked in separate rooms," but no child of the '90s can resist quoting every memorable line, dancing to "fat guy in a little coat," or doing the housekeeping voice.

This movie showed us Bo Derek still had it going on and Brian Dennehy could be a lovable dad. And it revealed Big D is a grumpy old man who wanted David Spade to be the hero.

"Tommy Boy" takes us back our golden years, when factory work in Ohio was fun, road trips could happen without planning, and movies could have perfect endings. It unlocked tons of tales from the Shat Crew, including:

    • The time Big D assaulted an Olive Garden co-worker
    • Gene's email battle with an MMA apparel company
    • and Roger's shocking hatred of Melissa McCarthy.

BONUS: Preventing Next Larry Nassar, Secrets vs. Surprises, and Sexual Predators w/ Patty Fitzgerald, Child Safety Expert

#169 After our special live episode with child safety educator Pattie Fitzgerald officially ended, we kept talking so we kept recording! In this bonus episode, we discuss:

    • Why we should encourage surprises and ban secrets
    • How to react if our child hints that something may be off
    • And how we can prevent our children from becoming victims of the next Larry Nassar

Sound-wise, consider yourself a part of the party. Because it was the end of the night, and we were not planning on sharing this, you'll hear parents rushing off to meet their sitters and our little dog Chubs even makes an appearance.

The atmosphere is relaxed, but Pattie Fitzgerald's advice is top notch! And we are so grateful to her for being so generous with her time.
