American Horror Stories (The Anniversary Celebration Of Our First Episode!!!)

American Horror Stories (The Anniversary Celebration Of Our First Episode!!!)

Well almost one year ago I started this podcast only a few months into the first pandemic of most of our lifetimes.  I was lost looking for something to do besides go on six mile walks.  While I was always into movies and TV shows, it hit me, my college roomie was making a movie podcast, and I might as well channel my inspiration and ambition into some creative outlet.  So Nick Nack Goes To The Movies was born.  With it too came a fun albeit startling transition to more and more outright horror.  I had dabbled with it before, but during the pandemic my need to feel something, especially something with a sense of sensory overload.  The American Horror Story series was just the thing I needed, and a year later, with all the ish still going on, it was time for the Hulu/FX spin-off American Horror Stories to fill the void and be the topic of choice.  Santa Trejo, Billie Lourd, a Murder House revisit, and more all on this latest AHS episode before Double Feature delights our airwaves!

The Brutal Khloe Kardashian Scene That Was Cut From The Reunion

The Brutal Khloe Kardashian Scene That Was Cut From The Reunion

    On the show today…

The first trailer for Beauty and the Geek Australia has dropped and even though the new series is being marketed as "the most uplifting, feel-good show of the year” there are already some problematic themes.

And Sarah Paulson appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live this week to tell a hilarious story of how she was rejected by Friends star Matthew Perry at a Hollywood “makeout party” and honestly you need to hear this story.

Plus, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians reunion special has aired and there are a few particular bombshells we need to discuss. We also need to talk about the brutal Khloe Kardashian clip that was deleted from the broadcast.

A Quiet Place, A Quieter Place, And The Silent Slasher Cinema Subgenre

A Quiet Place, A Quieter Place, And The Silent Slasher Cinema Subgenre

While I am still working to get back to finishing our Walking Dead and Marvel Cinematic Universe episodes, this episode commemorates a huge milestone.  This podcast, Nick Nack Goes to the Movies, finally had yours truly go to the movies.  The last movie I went to prior to this was in February 2020 for that Harley Quinn movie.  But today I can clearly say that your favorite host finally got back to the movies.  The popcorn, the carpet, the cupholders, the Maria Menounos, the movies.  And this episode is all about post-apocalyptic films where you either gotta be mad quiet or stop looking at things in honor of A Quiet Place Part 2.  Besides this, we have the previous film in the franchise as well as Bird Box and The Silence.  So join me in new movie action, and don't talk to loud, proper movie etiquette and all that, and get lost in the franchise that carved out a new horror/thriller sub-genre.  What is your favorite Quiet Place movie, or maybe you like Bird Box and John Malkovich more?  Either way, let me know on social at either @NickNackMovies or @NickNack_IC on either Tik Tok, Instagram, or Twitter!

The film stars Cate Blanchett, Rooney Mara, Sarah Paulson, Jake Lacy, and Kyle Chandler. Set in New York City during the early 1950s, Carol tells the story of a forbidden affair between an aspiring female photographer and an older woman going through a difficult divorce.

Ep. 38: Charissa Thompson & Jeff Darlington (Part 2: YOU HEARD ME)

Ep. 38: Charissa Thompson & Jeff Darlington (Part 2: YOU HEARD ME)

Beginning with Mike and Charissa’s origin story (featuring mimosas and a double entendre-drenched show pitch), and ending with Mike and Jeff’s (featuring the Crown Jewels and a saucy Soho club), Natalie is bombarded with a fast and furious barrage of true confessions. We learn about Jeff’s ill-fated fraternity Hall of Fame acceptance speech, the woman who wanted to throw down with Charissa in a Miami Beach bar, the actress who scolded her during a red-carpet interview for Extra… actually, this whole episode is extra. You heard me.
