Interview - Man’s Best - Pornsak Pichetshote and Jesse Lonergan  #1 out March 20th

    1. Pornsak Pichetshote, Jesse Lonergan, thank you for being on the AIPT comics podcast to talk Man’s Best. This series is so fresh and original, what was the bud of the idea that inspired it?
    2. 5 crosstalk
    3. Can you talk a little about the personalities of our three pet protagonists?
    4. Grant Morrison, Frank Quitely and Jamie Grant’s We3 immediately comes to mind when we see animals in cyber suits, was that iconic series on your mind at all while scripting and drawing the series?
    5. Jesse, Hedra is one of my favorite comics of all time, the layout design is insanely impressive. How do you approach layout design, and more specifically, approach it with Man’s Best?
    6. I freaking love the title, but I’m always curious, were there other titles you were workshopping?
    7. We’d be remiss not to ask, do you have pets and if so, what are they and their names?!
    8. Pornsak, you’ve said this is the most personal book you’ve written to date, could you elaborate?
    9. If Man’s Best was a song, what would it be and why?
    10. Do you have any projects in the works?

Interview: Interview: Matt Bors & Ben Clarkson - Justice Warriors

    1. Matt Bors, Ben Clarkson, thank you for being on the AIPT comics podcast. First off, congratulations on the second printing of Justice Warriors! For our listeners, what’s the elevator pitch for this series?
    2. Every page is full of interesting background bits. Dudes with clown noses, graffiti that says “Hell is otter people.” How much of this is in the script and how much is going buck wild while illustrating a page?
    3. On that same note, how often do you find yourselves going back to add “just one more” detail?
    4. With the creative juices flowing at various stages of layouts, how far did Justice Warriors steer from the original outline or plan by the time you reached the end?
    5. The Prince is less of a villain and more of a goober. Was it important to you to have an authority figure like this in the book?
    6. I noticed fun references to pop culture, like the Arnold Schwarzenegger and Carl Weathers handshake, is there any reference or gag in the book you hold particularly dear to your heart?
    7. If you handed this book to someone in the bubble, I feel like it’d read like perfect JW propaganda. Was that a tonal goal here?
    8. Horoscopes play a huge part in Justice Warriors, are either of you into horoscopes, or maybe the opposite, despise them?
    9. Are either of you a Libra?
    10. If a Justice Warriors 2 was crafted, who might the threat be this time?
    11. Matt, for those who don’t know, you ran The Nib for 10 years, a twice named a Pulitzer Prize finalist. Likely a sensitive topic, why are you closing shop now?
    12. When can we expect the final issue to land at our doorsteps (after we buy it from thenib.com)?
    13. It’s way too early I’m sure, but if The Nib continued in some format, where or how might we see The Nib?

    1. Dan, we last spoke in 2016 about Aquaman, how have you been?
    2. At that time we got to talk a bit about how James Gunn made it clear the Guardians movie version is the Guardians you and Andy Lanning formulated, and now you're going back to Groot's past adding things, any chance what we find in this comic may be referenced in the third film?

    6. You hinted when Groot was announced there were unexpected Marvel characters popping up, with four issues in the series, can we expect 4 unexpected faces?
    7. According to my research, Brian Michael Bendis and Jeff Loveness were the last two writers to contribute to Groot's early origins, one detail is we did not get along with his fellow saplings but did prefer the company of "Maintenance mammals" is this something you'll be exploring further?
    8. Did this scratchan itch that makes you want to return to Marvel comics titles?

    1. Steve, friend of the show, this is your 5th time guesting on the AIPT Comics podcast, thanks for coming on! To start, man you have so many books out now, or coming out soon, from Exorcists Never Die #1 out this week, to Astonishing Iceman announced last week, how do you juggle so many projects at once?
    2. Exorcists Never Die is an action-focused story, how does writing religious/fantasy action in a book like this for Mad Cave differ from Spider-Man 2099 or in Marauders?
    3. Shifting gears to Spider-Man 2099, Maximum Carnage is clearly being referenced in the cover art, does this monthly-long weekly series pay homage, or more, from the classic Spider-Man story?

    5. What’s it like writing Spider-Man 2099 knowing his voice may forever be Oscar Isaac’s in people's heads going forward?
    6. Iceman is a ways off, but for fans curious about your take on the character, is there any story arc or depictions of Bobby you hold dear that you connect with?
    7. Coming off Marauders, do you find it’s more difficult writing a solo book vs. a team book?
    8. We talk about Scarlet Witch on this podcast a lot, for fans on the fence, what was your original pitch for series?
    9. How did the addition of Darcy come about?
    10. The artwork in Scarlet Witch is gorgeous. How does magic work in the script and how often do you get a page back that just exceeds your wildest dreams?

Folge 1148: DR. STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS – Es passiert zu viel und es geschieht zu wenig

Folge 1148: DR. STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS – Es passiert zu viel und es geschieht zu wenig
Nachdem wir SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME nachgeholt hatten, ging es ins Kino, um DR. STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS zu sehen. Regie: Sam Raimi.

Der sehenswertere Multiversumsfilm ist dann doch EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE. (Wahrscheinlich nur eine Frage der Zeit bis die Daniels einen MCU-Film angeboten bekommen.)

In this week’s episode of the AIPT Movies podcast, Alex, Tim, and Matt discuss Stuart Gordon’s dystopian science fiction action film, Fortress! Is the cast one of the best collections of genre actors in one movie? Would this movie be viewed as a sci-fi classic if they simply had a higher budget? Also, Alex saw Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and gives a quick rundown of his favorite parts.

In addition to the movie discussions, Alex’s next movie, Ninja 4: Into the NinjaVerse, has officially hit the same release issues as all of his other movies. Tim and Matt think Alex is being used for an elaborate tax evasion scam and say he should quit before things get any worse. Is Alex going to take their advice?! Listen now to find out!
