    Schindler's List (1993)

    Schindler's List (1993)

Sometimes films go above and beyond just being a source of entertainment.  Some movies are not just pieces of art put on celluloid for all film lovers to watch, but they are important ... educational, and even a piece of historical reference.  Schindler's List is not a documentary, but it feels a lot like one. Steven Spielberg's epic 3+ hour story about one man who saved 1100 Jews from death in the Holocaust is riveting and moving.  Was it deserving of the best picture of 1993.  Download and listen to Jack's take on this film as well as all the other greats from 1993 and hear which film he thinks deserves his Rewatch Oscar.

#027 Trivia XI, They are cheating

#027 Trivia XI, They are cheating

We are back with a brand new episode of trivia! This is actually episode 11 and the host of trivia—Miranda—has decided to change it up. Now, instead of 10 questions, Joe and Curtis will answer 15 questions.

We covered a wide range of topics including movies, drinks, retail companies, serial killers, video games, and history. There was plenty of lighthearted banter and bickering between Curtis and his dad as they competed, but Miranda took it to a whole new level when she cheated in favor of Joe.

    Thanks for joining us!

The complicated legacy of Schindler's List

The complicated legacy of Schindler's List

This episode takes you on a journey through the complex legacy of Spielberg's Schindler's List. Beyond the heroism, we explore the enigmatic truth behind Oskar Schindler, and why it's not quite what it seems. We also contrast it with The Pianist, a Holocaust film that presents a different perspective - the victim's story. Join us to understand how cinema shapes our perception of reality and morality, and how we can respond to genocides around us.
