    Songs of Ascents, Part 14

    Songs of Ascents, Part 14
Pastor Marc Sharp continues the series "Songs of Ascents" with part 14. This series is looking at 15 Psalms (Psalm 120-134) designated as “Songs of Ascents”, which are God’s guidebook for right worship in the church. Today, it's Psalm 133, which builds on 132, and solidifies its theme of the anointing on the King/Messiah, and tells how that anointing extends to his people. The blessing also rests on God’s people, not just the city, mountain, or temple where they gather. As we’ve studied these Psalms, we’ve seen powerful analogies of the Christian life and faith in God. Songs of Ascents, Part 6

    Songs of Ascents, Part 6
In today's message, Pastor Marc Sharp continues the series "Songs of Ascents" with part six. This series is looking at 15 Psalms (Psalm 120-134) designated as “Songs of Ascents”, which are God’s guidebook for right worship in the church. The central theme of the Psalm today is permanence. It reminds us of those things which will not change; our security as believers, God’s love and protection of us; the safety of our inheritance in Him. When all is shaken around us, and the ground feels like it is crumbling underneath our feet, Psalm 125 is a beacon of gospel hope; an anchor that keeps us from drifting into the rocky shoreline of fear, apathy and defeatism. Jude, Part 5 - Kept From Stumbling

Jude, Part 5 - Kept From Stumbling
With today's message, Pastor Marc Sharp concludes the series from the New Testament book of Jude. The focus has been on Jude’s stern warning about (and descriptions of) false teachers, prophets and believers. The central theme has been Jude’s exhortation to “contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.” We can’t play fast and loose with the gospel. It must be the only genuine gospel, not a cheap counterfeit. Prophet, Priest, and King, Pt. 4 - Christ the Priest

Prophet, Priest, and King, Pt. 4 - Christ the Priest
Pastor Marc Sharp continues the series on the prophet, priest and king. So far, Pastor Marc has looked at the role and function of Old Testament prophets and priests, and shown how their lives and ministries pointed forward to Christ Jesus. Today's message closely examines how Jesus perfectly fulfills the priesthood, relegating Old Testament priests to merely a shadow of his reality. Jesus Christ is our great High Priest, replacing all other priests by proving them to be ineffective for our salvation, making them unnecessary and obsolete. His Last Days, Part 4: Crucifixion

His Last Days, Part 4: Crucifixion
Pastor Marc Sharp continues our current series, “His Last Days”, on this Good Friday with Part 4. After a night filled with agonized, solitary prayer in an olive grove (prayer so intense that he was sweating blood); after being betrayed by one of his friends, denied by another, and abandoned by them all; after 4 trials before both the Jews and the Romans, after mockery that included being spit upon, punched, and crowned with a thorn branch; after being brutally whipped, leaving his back muscles lacerated to the bone, and causing a near fatal loss of blood, Christ is now commanded to carry the crossbeam of his cross uphill to the place where his death sentence will be carried out.
