In our text, Paul highlights opportunities amid the opposition the church at Corinth faced. Events on our world stage have us all facing challenging economic times. During difficult times, the church has a duty to be a beacon of life and a source of encouragement. God has given us a job to display His glory. We must show His grace and his greatness. We are to show the world how to live by faith and how a life of faith can empower us in the middle of the greatest trouble. How we view and talk about our troubles determines the response and impact they have. When we focus on our problems, we lose focus on Him. We must not focus on what we can see but concentrate on what He has said. God promised that He would never leave nor forsake us. No matter what we face, God has the grace and power to see us through. What we are going through right now is temporary.
