When faced with those in the church who are not acting as they should, what are we to do? Life is often difficult and we expect the church to be a refuge. So how should we respond to ungodly behavior toward us? Those James was writing to were being abused by the wealthy, even to the point of fraud and what James calls murder. Be Patient

The righteous man is being condemned… murdered, so James tells us in his letter. Great injustice. Great trials. Such suffering. But… “he,” that is the suffering saint, “does not resist you,” James 5:6 finishes. This is exemplified completely in Jesus. A condemned and murdered innocent man, who did not resist. And James seems to be alluding to the fact that, taking after Jesus, the saints in this community are doing likewise. How so? How do they do that? How can you and I do that?

To make disciples who love God, love people, and serve the world.
