Most all folks who attend churches each week, even on multiple days perhaps, across America are actually sinning against God because we’ve become too much like Martha and not enough like Mary, in our church service preparations, even our lame prayer times. Jesus calls us to spend more time being like Mary, which will lead to being obedient in the works during the Martha times.

Which is more important — spending time talking with God or talking about God? Why? What does it mean to you for the Almighty to be your friend? May God bless you as you engage in worship. Should we be active in service for the Lord or should we be more contemplative? The answer is that we need to do both. Last week's message dealt with loving our neighbor. Today's message deals with the other side of that coin - listening to Jesus.

Jesus instructs Martha that she is missing out by being too busy preparing a meal and that Mary has "the better portion" sitting and listening at His feet.

We live in the age of distraction and this constant distraction diminishes our love, joy and peace while it divides up our attention. However, Jesus has made a way for us to live spiritually centered lives in which we can be deeply connected and present to God, self and others. It sounds great, but how do experience this?
